Voice of Courage is a Combat Gear or commonly, Gear, classified under the Support System category. From the gameplay standpoint, it is considered as Gear 3 or Support. Since Voice of Courage is used during combat, it is considered a Combat Equipment. It it is possible to use gears to damage and defeat enemies and break destructible objects.

Voice of Courage is an upgraded Rally Cry. It is a Support System that breaks you and allies free of all status effects. It works as long as the allies are inside the range when activated.
This item has a special ability, which is a procedural perk that can be activated by performing an action mentioned in its masterwork perk.
Masterwork Perk: Additionally revives downed squadmates who are nearby.

Trivia (May Contain Spoilers)
- The Masterwork Tarsis Last Stand obtained from loot drops will have a power level of 61, whereas the one obtained from Gear or Interceptor Warchests will have a power level of 66.
- Voice of Courage’s effect color is green, whereas Rally Cry’s effect color is yellow. This makes it the only combat item whose appearance changes between its lower and upgraded counterparts.
- Voice of Courage also makes a different (lower pitched) sound when activated, compared to its lower counterpart, Rally Cry.
- Voice of Courage can be used to complete Ally Javelins Repaired Feat.
- Voice of Courage has a bug that can become a nuisance during combat. When an ally is revived using this support, it is possible for the revived ally to immediately become downed rendering the charge wasted.
- Gears are the only combat items that share their base design with their upgraded design.
