Vara Brom, also known as "The Spear" is the Valkyrie leader and created the Echoes of Reality Cataclysm.
Biography[]
Vara's brother, better know as The Monitor, named Armas Brom tried to weaponize the Cenotaph to stop the advance of the Urgoth on dominion borders.
Following her brother's failure to weaponize the Cenotaph and his defeat at the hands of the Freelancer, Vara traveled to Bastion where she performed a ritual that sacrificed herself and several Valkyries to initiate a Cataclysm that began to reshape reality. When the Freelancer confronted her, like her brother, Vara was reincarnated as a titan-like creature. Though the Freelancer defeated her, the Cataclysm failed to cease. Doctor Harken theorized that Vara's spear was the center of the Cataclysm, not Vara herself, and it was keeping both her and the Cataclysm in a loop which was ultimately true.
Eventually, the Freelancer was able to destroy the crystal keep Vara's spear in place, putting an end to the Cataclysm, reverting Vara back to her human. Desperately, she attempted to reach her spear but the Freelancer kicked it out of her reach. Mortally wounded, Vara stated she was following Harken's plan and has concluded that she had been lied to. The Freelancer offered to save her but Vara scoffed, stating the Freelancer was nothing more than Harken's puppet, before disintegrating into dust.
In a letter addressed to the Freelancer, Harken denies Vara's accusations.
