Ursix are among the apex predators of Bastion. Ursix usually come in pair because. But there are several cases where only one ursix is encountered.
Etymology and Anatomy
Ursix gets its name from the corruption of the word Ursa (Bear, a large, heavy mammal that walks on the soles of its feet, having thick fur and a very short tail).
Ursix are hulking and glorious predators. Their large grayish blue bodies are more than twice the height of a javelin. They are bipedal, knuckle-walking mammoths that do massive damage to their foes.
Ursix have spiny bristles growing all over their bodies. They have 4 yellow-glowing eyes, a spiky nose, and two ears on their heads. Their mouths have sharp canine teeth that can rip away even the toughest armor from any javelin. Their arms and feet both have 4 digits each. Each digit is equipped with sharp black claws.
Ursix can change its appearance slightly is its head is constantly being hit: its body becomes slightly darker and its eyes begin to glow orange showing its rage.
Narrative Involvement
Ursix are fairly rare in Bastion, but those that are found will attack anything in their line of sight. According to Venwick Crok, Ursix are very social creatures. They mate for life and are fiercely loyal. Somehow aware of a mate in danger, they will rush to their rescue, no matter the distance. When an Ursix reaches old age, their young will return to their family for comfort.
Most times an Ursix is encountered during combat, a second one shows up. Ursix are encountered during contracts where a rampaging beast had to be controlled. Shaper Relics are also known to summon or create Ursix.
The very first Ursix encounter was when the Freelancer was checking if the Early Warnings, where a relic created a Giant Ursix. It was defeated only when the relic was silenced.
Scars also tried to create an Ursix by messing with a Shaper relic in an attempt to destroy Fort Tarsis. This attempt was thwarted by the Freelancer who was trying to rescue several Sentinels such as Barr and Andrin captured by scars.
Several Ursix show up when the Freelancer is helping Sentinel Dax recover an “important intel” while inside the Sovereign Mine during the process of looking for her aunt Cardea.
During the Season of Skulls of 469 LV, several Corrupted Ursix were encountered inside the Somber Halls. They were all put to an end by Freelancers participating in the Fire Shrine Pilgrimage.

Behavior and Abilities
Ursix Hurls Rocks at its Foes
Ursix attack fiercely and constantly. They have several abilities:
Air Melee Swipe: Ursix gets on its feet in an upright position and violently swipes its arms at an enemy to do damage.
Pounce Strike: Ursix can randomly pounce on an enemy in the distance and land near them to do massive damage.
Rock Toss: Ursix can collect boulders nearby and hurl them at their chosen foe (on ground or in the air) that do lethal damage and also stagger them.
Hidden Attributes
Ursix have one hidden attribute: Rampaging Berserker: Ursix can go berserk if its weak points are constantly targeted and do more damage to their foes.
Strategy
Ursix are apex enemies. So they usually appear towards the end of a combat as a 
target enemy.

Overview
Ursix’s Rampaging Berserkers
ince Ursix are very aggressive and do massive damage to their foes, they should be a priority among other enemies. Because they are armored, anti-armor damage dealing weapons and gears are the most effective against it.
Ursix are fully capable of defeating their foes within two attacks, so a constant moving around is necessary during combat. Combat can be tough if there is only one javelin as they continuously perform their attacks.
At regular intervals of reducing their health, Lesser Ash Titans drop ammo and repair kits. Use these resupplies to replenish your javelin.
Combat
If a flying foe is encountered, Ursix will try to bring them down by hurling boulders at them. If trying to take cover, then Ursix will pick up on this defensive tactic and can pounce to really long distances to reach their targets. They swipe their arms vigorously twice to attack their foes.
Most attacks from an Ursix are easily avoidable by strafing on ground or evading them while in the air. Targeting their weak points is both a good and a bad idea.
Melee based attacks are not the best way to effectively tackle an Ursix.
If the weak point is targeted, then be prepared for the Ursix to go on a rampage. Their bodies become slightly darker as they get agitated. Their yellow eyes start glowing orange in rage. Their attacks become vigorous and more violent. A perfectly timed ultimate is perhaps the best strategy when dealing with a rampaging Ursix.
Every Named Ursix
There aren’t many named Ursix. Legendary Ursix can be encountered if there are 3 or 4 javelins in a team. The following is the list of known Ursix:

Trivia (May Contain Spoilers)
- There are a few cortex entries that imply that Ursix are Shaper corrupt brutes.
- Ursix are the only known apex creatures to have a chimera version called Bristleback. Bristleback are technically considered their own species.
- The ability names are taken from the Anthem Prima Guide and datamined files. They may have been slightly modified to avoid confusion with other in-game names.
