Truth of Tarsis is a weapon classified under the Sniper Rifle category. Since Truth of Tarsis is used during combat, it is considered a Combat Equipment. These items are used to damage and defeat enemies or break destructible objects.

Note: All numeric values (except the power level) mentioned are only applicable to the default state of the weapon. It may be possible to increase or decrease the net values using inscriptions, but they will not be shown.

Description and Alternative Items

For the alternative item, see Devastator

Truth of Tarsis is an upgraded Devastator. It is a Sniper Rifle whose ammunition explodes on contact. If an enemy is hit, the bullet explodes dealing one of the highest amounts of damaged—that can be done by a weapon—to the enemies in its blast radius.

Truth of Tarsis is the most effective against armored enemies. It is a sniper rifle that can do massive weak point damage, because it has a weak point multiplier of x13.

The masterwork perk of detonating combos will only activate if a primed enemy is hit at its weak point. Even though the description states that any enemy under a status effect can be combo'ed, the enemies must be primed.

This item has a special ability, which is a procedural perk that can be activated by performing an action mentioned in its masterwork perk.
Masterwork Perk: Hitting weak points on enemies under a status effect will set off a chain combo.

Obtaining Methods

Truth of Tarsis can be obtained in the following ways:

  • Crafting (Masterwork only)

Cortex Entry

Cortex Entries are small pieces of lore attached with the particular weapon found in Anthem and accessed through the Cortex. All weapons have at least one entry associated with them. All Masterwork and Legendary weapons' cortex entries directly add to the narrative of the world.

At the decisive battle with the urgoth, a squad of snipers led by Alnwik devastated the attacking forces before the main clash. Tarsis spoke of the snipers before she died and reputedly said, "My snipers were true today and their truth delivered death unto the urgoth Overlords." Legend has it this rifle was inspired by the one wielded long ago by that small group of faithful snipers.

Trivia (May Contain Spoilers)

  • Truth of Tarsis is one of the two highest damage dealing weapons along with Lightning Rod. These two are in a way opposite to each other as the former is effective against armored enemies, while the latter against shielded enemies.
  • The number of status effects chained to enemies when a Truth of Tarsis’ masterwork perk is activated can be increased through the combo chains inscription.
  • Truth of Tarsis is one of the two weapons that takes a combo effect of a particular javelin (Storm, in this case) and applies it to a weapon. The other one is Artinia's Gambit.
  • In the game the Magazine size (also known as the clip size) is incorrectly referred to as Ammo within the statistics of a weapon.
