An unknown signal in Northern Bastion is giving strange readings. It’s time to investigate it.
Hints and Suggestions
- The Conjunction is a respawn restricted area. If a Freelancer is downed, they need to be revived by allies, otherwise, if they force respawn, they will be thrown out of the conjunction and back into Freeplay.
- This Conjunction has 3 tiers. At the completion of each tier, a Treasure Chest will be unlocked.
- Since this is a Shaper Structure based location, there are several Shaper Nodes around that can zap javelin thrusters and prevent flight.
- Dominion infantry can be easily tackled with any combat equipment. Items that do Blast Damage are more useful when they are in hordes.
- Dominion Brutes have armored health. They don’t do much damage. Using armor buster, acid or fire type damage is the best way to deal with them.
- For Dominion Valkyries, it is best to focus on stripping their shields with lightning or Shield Breaker damage, then subduing them with fire or ice to keep them from hovering.

These are the locations where the Freelancer begins the expedition, has to perform tasks to advance, and conclude the expedition.
Cortex Entry
The Undying (Conjunction) is categorized under the Conjunction type of expedition. These expeditions do not have any cortex entries associated with them.
Trivia (May Contain Spoilers)
- During Update 1.5.0, the only way to unlock this conjunction was to complete the mission Incursion and complete the following Freeplay World Events each time the conjunction had to be unlocked:
- The conjunction shares its location with Monument Watch Anomaly (Conjunction).
- The Undying has a slightly different design, with skeletal appearances on it, when compared to a regular Dominion Fury.
- The 3 treasure chests all unlock at the same time after The Undying is defeated.

Briefing
Investigate Shaper Energy
There is a closed Storm Gate in the vicinity.
Storm Gate Opens In
The Freelancer may have to wait up to 4 minutes and 30 seconds for the storm gate to open. When the Storm Gate Opens, the Freelancer can enter it to reach to the conjunction.
In Expedition
When the storm gate opens,
- Faye: "Freelancer, look! We can head up into the storm cloud now."
The Freelancer can fly into the storm gate.
Storm Gate Closes In
The Storm gate will close in 1 minute. There are several Dominion enemies in the area.
- Faye: "Fascinating. Amazing. This is some sort of Shaper conjunction."
Conjunction Initiated.
Keep The Undying from Escaping the Conjunction
- Faye: "Careful, there’s a Fury."
Conjunction Destabilizes In
The conjunction will destabilize in 10 minutes. So, it must be contained within that time, failing which, the Freelancer will be put back into Northern Bastion and may not end up collecting all the loot rewards.
Defeat The Undying
The Freelancer fights a strange looking Dominion Fury called The Undying. It is tethered to a Shaper Ruin nearby. When the Freelancer fights The Undying, its health automatically replenishes and won’t die, confusing them.
- The Freelancer: "Faye?"
- Faye: "The Fury’s tapped into the ruin. We have to shut all this down, fast. Find the brutes. I’m detecting something on them."
Echoes Delivered
The Freelancer must deliver 7 echoes into the Shaper ruin. If the Freelancer continues to fight The Undying,
- Faye: "Your shots aren’t getting through. Shut down the ruin first."
There are 7 Dominion Brutes marked with 
. Defeating them will produce an echo, which the Freelancer can use to stabilize the echo receptacle ruin, now marked with 
icon.
When all the echoes are delivered,
- Faye: "You’ve done it! The Fury has lost its shield."
Defeat The Undying
The Freelancer attacks The Undying again. Only for it to recover all its health and shield itself in its crystal barrier.
- The Freelancer: "What? What’s happening now?"
- Faye: "The ruin has reacted. One moment. Here come reinforcements. Show them what you can do. The Valkyries have more echoes. Take them and we can stop this."
Echoes Delivered
There are 4 Dominion Valkyries marked with . Defeating them will release an echo, which the Freelancer can use to stabilize the echo receptacle ruin marked with icon. When that’s done,
- Faye: "You’ve done it. The Fury has lost its shield."
Defeat The Undying
The Freelancer can now defeat The Undying for good, and they do exactly that.
- Faye: "You are getting a hang of this. Well done. That was done with rare style."
Returning to Bastion
The Freelancer has 1 minute to explore or collect rewards by opening all 3 Treasure Chests, before the conjunction closes and takes them back to Northern Bastion.
Post Expedition
Collect all the rewards dropped by the enemies and all the rewards from the 3 Treasure Chests. The Freelancer can force respawn out of the conjunction or, be transported into Freeplay when the conjunction closes.
Notes and Remarks
- There is only 1 tier in this conjunction, but 3 Treasure Chests.
- The dialogs mentioned in the script can vary across different play-throughs and different repetition of the game modes. The dialog will be taken from a pool that get rotated in-game. The script mentioned here is from one such instance.
