Location Hidden Place The Sovereign Mine Header Image

The Sovereign Mine is a hidden place, located in the nation of Bastion, on the planet Coda, as of the year 468 LV.

History

The Sovereign Mine is an old mine used to excavate crystals. This mine was abandoned a long time ago, leaving it untouched until 468 LV.

The Freelancer visited this mine in 468 to find a cypher link from outlaws which would lead to find the during the Mysterious Beginnings of an encounter with Dax. Later, the same year, when the Spear Battalion had to be located, following the clues left behind in a Dominion Base, the Freelancer fond them inside this mine and defeated Vara's Adjutant to determine what at the tip of the Spear.

Geography and Layout

The Sovereign Mine Entrance

The Sovereign Mine Entrance

The Sovereign Mine is a large excavation with eight chambers. Most of the time, it is occupied by Outlaws or Dominion, but sometimes, fauna such as titans and skorpions are found here. The entrance to the mine is found in Crescent Lake. There are Crystals that grow here and have an unknown form of energy emitted by them.

Upon entering, a staircase is encountered. This chamber has upper and lower levels. Some Red Chimeric Minerals are found in the lower level. There are plenty of stable structures to hold support for this system. There is a massive metallic dome-like structure fixed to the top of the entrance to the next chamber.

The second is a snake-like curved cavern with several support structures. The ground here is dry and no minerals are seen here. The room I slit using lights on the ceiling. Some equipment is found on the ground. Some fallen bricks and hanging wires are seen here as well.

The third chamber is a small, but tall room with lots of equipment laid out here. Scaffolding and other support structures are seen here. There are tattered rags seen everywhere. Occasionally, minor enemies from the Dominion or Outlaw factions are seen here. Part of the ground has stagnant water in it. There are several Red Chimeric Minerals found here.

The fourth chamber is a large open area with several closed or collapsed mine shafts by its walls. Some crystals are seen here attached to the walls. The place is lit with artificial lighting and even flaming torches Equipment is laid out unevenly here. Most times, titans are seen to loiter here—perhaps there is a natural gate somewhere here. This chamber has upper and lower levels, but they aren’t prominent enough o consider them as separate.

The fifth chamber is a minor cave with large Argentine crystals seen emerging out of the walls. There are artificial lights to keep this chamber lit. Small animals like tesilars are seen here. The ground is quite flat and easy to traverse.

The sixth chamber is another crystal studded chamber with a larger area. There is a small shallow water lake on one side of it inside a sunk ground. Larger than life crystals are seen here popping in and out of the ground. Some skeletal remains of animals are also found here. There are stairs to go up and down to reach the crystals.

The Sovereign Mine Exit

The Sovereign Mine Exit

The seventh chamber is a serpentine pathway leading to the final chamber. Small crystals are seen growing on the walls. Some more korox skeletons are found here. This location is quite dark and has more electrical lights keeping it barely lit.

The last chamber is an open cave supported by rock pillars and crystal growths. There is space for sunlight to come from above. Dominion are seen here trying to show establishment, occasionally. At the center is the largest crystal structure found within the cave. Waterfalls are present on some of the walls. There is a shallow pool of water by the entrance. Plants are certainly seen growing here. There is an exit mechanism for anyone who doesn’t want to fly all the way back to the entrance o go out of this mine.

These caves are a great place for enthusiasts to discover elementals! Note how these creatures form packs of similar or different types depending on the surrounding conditions. Don't get too close, though—you'll scare the poor elementals into exploding, which will kill you and them.
