The Monument is a landmark, located in the nation of Bastion, on the planet Coda, as of the year 468 LV.
History
The Monument is one of the largest Shaper relics known till date. It is an active relic, but fortunately, hasn’t gone volatile. It is so large that it affects local ripstreams around it. It is as old as the planet Coda is.
Arcanists have been studying it since its discovery. In 344 LV, a new kind of metal was discovered that was not found anywhere else. In 396, a second monument, usually called its twin was found in the Great Expanse. These monuments are thought to be interconnected to each other and other lesser Shaper structure like the Drill using a large unfathomable system.
Arcanists have kept a careful watch on this relic. There is an Arcanist camp on the bottom of the Monument, and sometimes, a second one overlooking it from a cliff on Serpent's View. If the monument somehow becomes volatile, it is very likely that it will take away the entirety of Northern Bastion region along with it. If such an activity is ever so found to occur, the Arcansist will warn the citizens of Fort Tarsis to evacuate.
In 468 LV, the Paladins tasked The Freelancer to light a shrine to remember their fallen on the relic.
Geography and Layout
Geography of The Monument
The monument is made of an unknown Shaper metal, whose constituents are still unknown. The Monument is covered in moss, since it has existed forever. Small flora grow on it, some fauna are seen around and in it at times.
The Monument is constantly mobbing its “fans” on its top. This movement causes electrical discharges around it. So, anyone trying to touch the upped half of the Monument, will be electrocuted.
Several enemy factions are seen fighting each other in and around the Monument, but none have claimed it, and none will, because there are sentinels and Freelancers on a constant patrol here, protecting the Arcanists and keeping an eye on the changes in the relic.
