History

The Last Sentinel is the name of a statue found under the ruins of the Watchtower of Arath. The structure has a story in the Freelancers Three, however, that is not its history. It is a structure built after the Legion of Dawn split into three factions. the statue is the only revealed one to be built using metal instead of stone.

As of 468 LV, the statue stands tall. In the same year, the Paladins tasked The Freelancer to light a shrine to remember their fallen near the statue.

Geography of The Last Sentinel

The Last Sentinel is a metallic statue, built atop boulders in a dark cavelet. There are no flora or fauna found here. However, a flame torch is always kept lit.

The creatures marked with and are found only through World Encounters and World Events respectively. Those unmarked may also be found in such events, but are usually found on their own. The following types of fauna, Chimera, and Elementals are revealed to be found in The Last Sentinel. There may also be small Insects which are tough to identify. Weaponized and Shaper Corrupt creatures are not listed here

All agreed that they should head for Arath, where they could find a good night's rest and visit Old Flori. Once an important citadel guarding travelers along the high road, a battle between two titans outside its doors reduced the citadel to rubble, with only the watchtower remaining secure. Flori stayed behind when the other Sentinels left, continuing to keep the fires lit. Indeed, the last remaining structure had become known not only as safe haven for lancers, but a place where you would be well fed, for Flori was an excellent hunter and an even better maker of soup. — From The Freelancers Three by Fallon Dalathie

Expedition List

The Last Sentinel isn't particularly visited during any expedition. However, it is possible that The Last Sentinel may have served as a connection between two locations during some expeditions. There may also be several instances of World Events in Freeplay that show up in or around this place.

Trivia

• This landmark or its surroundings will look different during various seasonal times, which includes the presence or absence of various cataclysmic storms.
• The Cortex Entry to this landmark is found on a wall the Watchtower of Arath. Datamined files show the existence of a location called Harlowe’s Walls, which was supposed to be a landmark, but never made the cut. It is thought that these two locations may have been mixed up.
• The Last Sentinel is one of the few known metallic statues found across Northern Bastion. Most effigies are made of rocks or stones.
• The location or its surroundings will look different during various seasonal times.
• A cortex entry (the same as the one mentioned above) is unlocked when a collectible note surrounded by a cypher projected hemisphere is found in the landmark.
