The Guardians of Dunar is a district of Emerald Abyss Subregion found within the region of Northern Bastion, located in the nation of Bastion, on the planet Coda, as of the year 468 LV.

History

From the days of the Legion of Dawn, larger than life statues of Arcanist mentors, including that of Idris and Hrennen, were carved out around the settlement of Dunar. These were carved to keep the wildlife away.

In 458 LV, after the Heart of Rage was unleashed, several Shaper relics around the epicenter of the cataclysm started growing volatile. One of the consequences of such relics in the Emerald Abyss caused the disappearance of many people. People called this the mystery of the Emerald Abyss.

In 468 LV, the Freelancer helped Arcanist Matthias to find ancient Arcanist runes by gathering echoes found in this area. Later, while solving the Mystery of the Emerald Abyss the Freelancer silenced the nearby West Valve and then enter the Foundry and help Dax reunite with her missing aunt, Cardea, and locate all the people who had disappeared during the past decade.

The same year, Freelancers set up several Time Trials during Icetide. One such trial’s end platform, Emerald Run was set up in this place.

Geography and Layout

The Guardians of Dunar, being within the Emerald Abyss Subregion, has a lush jungle with thick foliage. Larger than life tees grow here. Many minor fauna are also found here. Rock formations, and small hills are also here.

Shaper relic like the West Valve, and Shaper ruins such as the Foundry are also located here. The most unique feature of this place is the existence of Abandoned Javelins, carved out in the shapes of the heads of mentors.

Creatures

The creatures marked with and are found only through World Encounters and World Events respectively. Those unmarked may also be found in such events, but are usually found on their own. Enemy Encounters

Said to be one of the wonders of Bastion, the Guardians were enormous statues built to scare off wildlife from entering the area or threatening the Arcanists at Dunar. The Guardians themselves are likenesses of Arcanist mentors long past, particularly Idris, who taught Arden Vassa the ways of Ember, and Hrennen, who found the gateway to the Anthem.
