The Great Expanse is a region, located in the nation of Bastion, on the planet Coda, as of the year 468 LV. It is unconfirmed if the Great Expanse is a region within Bastion, or its own or a part of a different nation, or if it is a fictitious place from the literary work called A Strider in the Everweald.
For now, it is considered a region within Bastion, because there are several instances of actual places being used in plays such as the Freelancers Three. It must be updated when more information is revealed.
History
The Great Expanse has existed for as long as Coda has. Much of its history is unrevealed as of 468 LV. Prospero has traveled into the Great Expanse when he was young and an engineer for a trading caravan.
In the year 466 LV, a Strider Pilot and his family, along with an ex-Regulator, crossed over to live in the Great Expanse to become a farmer with the help of a Shaper relic that provided energy to grow plants.
Geography and Layout
The Great Expanse is in the western side of Bastion, bordering the Western Pass. It is mostly an open grassland and is known to have valleys with Shaper relics that spawn Titans.
The only way to reach the Great Expanse is by traveling through the Antium Lock and heading west, as there is no way to go towards the west from Northern Bastion any other way.
The Great Expanse is also the place where a second Shaper relic resembling the Monument, colloquially known as the The Monument's Twin, has been found.
Flora
There are no revealed varieties of macroscopic Flora found in The Great Expanse.
Creatures
The creatures marked with
and
are found only through World Encounters and World Events respectively. Those unmarked may also be found in such events, but are usually found on their own. The following types of fauna, Chimera, and Elementals are revealed to be found in The Great Expanse. There may also be small Insects which are tough to identify. Weaponized and Shaper Corrupt creatures are not listed here
- Titan (3 titans fused into 1)
Enemy Encounters
There may not be any specific enemies that belong to any known factions here. Hostile flora and fauna, if found here, aren't considered as enemy encounters.
Cortex

And the girl, Sala, all of four, has some kind of crush on me. I keep catching her spying while I'm cleaning the guns. They actually put flowers in her hair—I saw her mother doing it. Do they think this is a vacation?
Can't see what interest Zhim has in these people. Even their dreams have no value.
Then again... the hold is sealed. And they never open it.

Trivia
- This region or its surroundings will look different during various seasonal times, which includes the presence or absence of various cataclysmic storms.
- There are some datamined dialogues from non-playable characters, “Smart. Kal heard the same thing over in the Everweald. Someone found a couple of them in an old ruin.” But the existence of this line in the final release of the game needs confirmation. Because that would confirm the Everweald is an actual place.
