The Faithful is a landmark, located in the nation of Bastion, on the planet Coda, as of the year 468 LV.

History

When the Urgoth found out about the Human Resistance, they went on a frenzied hunt to get their slaves back. At this time, humanity had built a monumental fortress, gilded and sturdy—the Fortress of Dawn. When the Legion of Dawn was in the process of moving all the humans from their first stronghold of the haven to the fortress, they gained intelligence on the Urgoth having found out about the location of the Haven.

When the Urgoth prepared to ransack the Haven, few humans—50 or so—stayed behind in the Haven pretending to the entirety of the Human Resistance. The Urgoth mercilessly killed every single one of them. But their sacrifices weren’t in vain. Every human on their way to the Fortress of Dawn reached there safely while the Legionnaires and the Legion lancers protected them.

The Faithful was later built to honor the few who remained and sacrificed their lives for the greater good. It is unknown when this statue was built, but it stays strong as of 468 LV. During the Season of Skulls Festival of the same year, the Paladins tasked The Freelancer to light a shrine to remember their fallen on one of the fortress’ tower.

Geography and Layout

Geography of The Faithful

The statue is made entirely of rock and is covered in patches of moss. The Faithful stands tall amid waterfalls, lush greenery and strong boulders. Flora and fauna are quite common around it, but some of them are not physically seen most times.

Right next to the Faithful is a wide waterfall, behind which is the Haven.

Flora

The following are the revealed varieties of plantlife that are guaranteed to be found in The Faithful. Even a single instance of the flora found in this location is listed here. There may still be more plants that aren't accurately charted:

  1. Common Bush
  2. Grass
  3. Moss
  4. Slender Vine

Creatures

The creatures marked with and are found only through World Encounters and World Events respectively. Those unmarked may also be found in such events, but are usually found on their own. The following types of fauna, Chimera, and Elementals are revealed to be found in The Faithful. There may also be small Insects which are tough to identify. Weaponized and Shaper Corrupt creatures are not listed here

Enemy Encounters

There may not be any specific enemies that belong to any known factions here. Hostile flora and fauna, if found here, aren't considered as enemy encounters.

Cortex

Cortex entry below is either unlocked in The Faithful or collected during exploration in other locations.

This enormous statue was built to honor “The Faithful of the Haven” who chose to stay at the Legion's first stronghold when the urgoth attacked. Through the haven had been evacuated, fifty odd Faithful—made of lancers, healers, pages, and cooks—stayed to create the illusion of protecting the population, drawing the enemies’ attention away from Tarsis’ effort to move hundreds of refugees to the Fortress of Dawn. Few survived, but the legend lives on.

Expedition List

The Faithful isn't particularly visited during any expedition. However, it is possible that The Faithful may have served as a connection between two locations during some expeditions. There may also be several instances of World Events in Freeplay that show up in or around this place.

Trivia

  • This landmark or its surroundings will look different during various seasonal times, which includes the presence or absence of various cataclysmic storms.
  • The Faithful is a massive statue that resembles a Ranger holding a sword. So, it may have been built only after that javelin was invented.
  • A cortex entry (the same as the one mentioned above) is unlocked when a collectible note surrounded by a cypher projected hemisphere is found in the landmark.
