The Freelancer returns to the Echo of Reality several times, trying to figure out how Vara created so may arenas. After Harken receives this information, he has come up with a theory on how to silence it. But he needs samples from the cataclysm.

Talk to Harken
- Harken: "My dear Freelancer. So good to see you again."
- Freelancer: "You said you had some idea about silencing Vara’s Cataclysm?"
- Harken: "I do remember saying that, yea. But I was mistaken."
- Freelancer: "Mistaken. Right."
- Harken: "In my defense, Freelancer, Vara did plan to use her body as the focus of the cataclysm. It never occurred to me that she would give the honor of sacrifice to another."
- Freelancer: "What are you saying? Vara isn’t the heart of the cataclysm?"
- Harken: "Indeed she is not. Which is why her death does not silence the relic. Her spear was the sacrifice. It holds the reality inside open and only its destruction will close it."
- Freelancer: "Vara’s spear? The one that stuck inside a giant impenetrable crystal? That spear?"
- Harken: "Yes! Fascinating isn’t it? The cataclysm is protecting it, keeping itself in this world."
- Freelancer: "How do I kill it?"
- Harken: "The crystal is the key of course. It resonates with a small part of the Anthem. It’s been growing inside the cataclysm for some time. There should be plenty to gather. Bring me enough samples, and I should be able to construct something that will disrupt its resonance."
- Freelancer: "And disrupting it will do what, exactly?"
- Harken: "It’s an experiment, my dear Freelancer. We won’t know until you try. But it should allow you to reach the spear. Pull it from the echo receptacle. And then… we will see, won’t we?"

- Faye: "Stay put for a few seconds. Everything around your position is shifting. "
- Freelancer: " (Shudders) How do Dominion troops stand using teleporters? (Chuckles) Feels like I hugged an Ursix. "
- Faye: "Limit your exposure to the Storm. It’s trying to breakdown our reality. You included. "
- Freelancer: "Would you look at the sky… is it just me or is it getting worse?"
The Freelancer can either participate in the events or Confront Vara When the final blow is delivered to Vara
- Vara: "This is not the end"
Return to Fort Tarsis
Post-Mission
- Faye: "Sentinel Brin says that last batch of crystals was enough. Harken started working. Finally!"
- Freelancer: "Good. Keep me posted. I want to as soon as he’s done."
The Echo of Reality can be entered any number of time until Harken requests the Freelancer for a visit.
