The Dawn Gates is a district of Ruins of Shadowmark Subregion found within the region of Northern Bastion, located in the nation of Bastion, on the planet Coda, as of the year 468 LV.
History
The Dawn Gates is thought to be one of the few anachronistic locations where the Final Battle against the Urgoth was fought. Although, this information cannot be confirmed by the Arcanists. In the recent years, the Dawn Gates have been a preferred spot for outlaws to perform shady deals with fiends.
When the attempts to silence the Heart of Rage were undertaken, all striders had to pass through the Dawn Gates, since the Shadow Lock that leads to the Freemark Region is here. The Dawn Gates have been visited by the Freelancer during 468 LV several times.
The Freelancer helped Matthias to uncover the location of the Elysian Manuscript by collecting some Arcanist Runes under Hidden Depths. After silencing the Heart of Rage, to help Yarrow locate the whereabouts of Diggs, he found out about a Bad Deal, preventing which would bring Diggs out of hiding. The Freelancer defeated Lympkin and Kresky to prevent this deal from becoming successful.
During the Season of Skulls Festival of 468, those lost in darkness wished the Freelancers to light a flame for their fallen allies. One of these shrines to locate inside the Wrecked Gazebo, which overlooked the large effigy dedicated to Midderon in this district.
Geography and Layout
The Dawn Gates has more architectural ruins from Shadowmark melded with old Anshar buildings. Today, it is overgrown by lush vegetation and several animals have made this their home. A path for striders to go to the Shadow Lock. Dominion attempt to take over this location in vain. In one of the buildings is an effigy dedicated to Midderon, the founder of the Freelancers faction.
There are dormant Shaper spines towards the way to the lock. Unfortunately, several striders have fallen here, along with many, many javelins, likely from the events that happened after Heart of Rage formed. There are also a few Urgoth statues found here. The strider lock can still be accessed, but only under dire circumstances.
