Technology is one of the Sub Sections of Library within the Cortex in Anthem.
Technology keeps a track of scientific advancement and progress made in Coda.
The Table below Shows the Level 1 Sections. Since most Level 1 sections have only a single entry, they do not have specific pages, and are all collected here. This is specific to Technology sub-section only. All other sub sections follow the regular method of showing level1, level2, and level3 sections.

A device that extends the range of the cypher seated in it, which allows them to communicate over a great distance. A lancer must wear the link to maintain contact with a cypher in their amplifier. Each link has a unique identification code that the cypher must know before they can send information. Amplifiers were invented by Corvus for diplomatic purposes and not a technology stolen from Fortuo.

Sometimes known as a Data Archive, this small device stores large amounts of information and can only be read by a trained cypher. Though there is no official date on record, Corvus is believed to have invented archives somewhere in the late 200s.

A crafting workstation that transforms raw materials into precise components. Forges allow people to build, modify, and repair numerous machines, including javelins. Ironically, forge parts themselves are built with forges, prompting the philosophical conundrum, “Which came first, the tool or the Forge?”
Forge (2)See Cortex Entry: Forge (2) for More Details ![]()
The Engineer worked long into the night, switching between the concentration needed for blueprinting and the rigorous physical labor required for the actual forging. When she grew tired, she remembered the lessons passed on by her father. Though he had long passed, his words, his voice, his laugh, still resonated in the Forge. It was when she was deep in the work that she knew he was still with her.

An airtight, armored exo-suit linked to a pilot's thoughts and impulses. Javelins are capable of short flights and have been the major technology of defense and exploration. “Arden Vassa crafted a suit of armor, plated in ember and hope. This would make General Tarsis stronger than the urgoth, than the ursix, than the titan. This would be humanity's salvation. A spear, hurtling towards freedom. A Javelin of Dawn.” When cyphers began to appear, Corvus integrated new technology into links, so that the cyphers could “accompany” lancers on missions, giving specific direction, information and guidance. While not necessary to piloting a javelin, working with a cypher is a proven life saver.
Striders (1)See Cortex Entry: Striders (1) for More Details ![]()
Striders are the bloodstream of Bastion. They are used to transport people, resources, and vital supplies for short distances or during lengthy expeditions into the wilderness. A strider can house an amplifier and up to four javelins at a time. Their massive size means striders can safely navigate most common dangers, but are vulnerable to certain chimera and coordinated attacks. Most striders can withstand being on the edge of a Cataclysm, but will not maintain structural integrity within.

This all-purpose communication device allows lancers to stay in contact with each other through shortwave radio, as well as maintain mental contact with cyphers. Cyphers can also act as a conduit for additional parties to observe and comment on lancer activities. Early experiments between Corvus and the Satomi dabbled in sensory linking between all parties. However, this overloaded lancers who needed to focus their mental energies on piloting their javelins. Additional technology to limit what information lancers receive has since been developed. Socially, it is considered rude to wear links in certain situations, and the Antium Bard's Union has banned links at all performances.

Locks are massive, heavy doors that keep wildlife from entering settlements or migrating into different areas of Bastion. In settlements, individuals can exit or enter by passing through two heavy doors. Each door must be locked before the second will open. Strider locks in the wild are found primarily in mountainous passes. They operate with a similar two-door system that the strider itself passes through.

Invented in antiquity, radio communication was not widely accepted until after the defeat of the urgoth. Radio towers are expensive to build, must be maintained against harsh weather and damage from wildlife (tesilars are especially drawn to such structures), and clearly announce the presence of a human settlement to potential attackers. Moreover, interference from Shaper ruins limits the effective range of even the strongest radio transmissions to only a few klicks. And yet for all the drawbacks, radio has saved countless lives. It allows lancer teams to coordinate in the field without a cypher. It keeps Sentinels on patrol in contact with the settlement they defend. Radio distress calls lead rescuers to downed striders and damaged javelins. And of course, everyone inside a settlement's walls relies on radio for news and entertainment.

A signet is a personalized item inserted into the crown of a machine to establish a mental link between technology and the human mind. Since most machines that require a mental link have been tuned for a specific user, operating a machine with a foreign signet can be difficult and unsatisfactory.

What a day. I woke up late, and when I got to work I discovered I’d left my signet in my kitchen. I grabbed a spare off the wall and hopped into my javelin. Sure, I could kind of move, but the chances of hitting a nesting wyvern in the tower, even at mid-range, were slim. In short, meet me at the bar.

With their tough hide and sturdy joints, striders can walk past the stars. Blast those criminals that knock my ugly beauties down for the promise of a few ratty coins.

The strider's heavy joints groaned as it came to a halt. Through the windows, they could smell the heat of lush foliage. They took one last breath to remember it, for they could not count on fresh air in the Everweald, only the stuffy recycled wind from the strider's system. In the Everweald, the outside would bring death. The strider was their city now, but living behind walls was not new to anyone, so the crew sealed the windows shut, and plunged headlong into the furious green jungle.
