Softened Blows is a Component that is used to provide armor and shield reinforcements to a Javelin. Apart from these Health reinforcements, it also provides javelins with additional perks that improve their overall combat prowess, making it a type of Combat Equipment.
Softened Blows is classified as a Universal Component that can be used by all javelins: Ranger, Colossus, Storm, and Interceptor.
Note: All numeric values (except the power level) mentioned are only applicable to the default state of the Component. It may be possible to increase or decrease the net values using inscriptions, but they will not be shown.

Softened Blows is an upgraded Shield Reinforcement. It is a component that Increases javelin shields by a large amount.
It is possible to make a javelin invulnerable with this Softened Blows by stacking Shield Refresh inscriptions.
This item has a special ability, which is a procedural perk that can be activated by performing an action mentioned in its masterwork perk.
Masterwork Perk: Increases damage resistance by 75% for 5 seconds when shields run out.

Trivia (May Contain Spoilers)
- Softened Blows can keep reactivating itself if a javelin can immediately regain some of its shields. But, the damage resistance doesn’t stack.
- Components are the only combat items that have a completely unique base design and upgraded design icons, and not simply a reskinned version of existing items.
- A base version (Epic/Rare/Uncommon/Common) component can be stacked with its upgraded version (Masterwork/Legendary) component.
