Skystone Lock is a landmark, located in the nation of Bastion, on the planet Coda, as of the year 468 LV.

History

The Skystone Lock was a strider gate that existed between 207 LV and 464 LV. In 392 LV, the lock was captured by Outlaws. When a cataclysm was unleashed in the mining settlement of Skystone, in 413 LV, Scars began to show up from the unknown location of the relic that caused their invasion. Freelancers and Sentinels tried to contain and silence the relic. But it was never found, and the population of Scars had grown quite large, until 464 LV, when the lock on the side of Northern Bastion was permanently under Scar control. The other side leading to the mountains of Heliost is under Sentinel control.

Whatever human structures existed until 464 LV, have been destroyed and remade in the scar image in fewer than 4 years. As of 468 LV, the Scars still control their side. The city of Skystone doesn’t exist, and the lock is permanently closed for striders.

Built in 207 L.V., this strider port was built specifically to keep skorpions from migrating over the mountains into Heliost. Though the inscription reads, “May our paths go ever on together in peace,” the Skystone Lock has seen its share of violence and, in 392, outlaws captured the lock for a hijacking during the busy trading days of the great expansion. Scars captured the Lock again in 464; they hold the Fort Tarsis side of the lock, while the path to Heliost on the other side is guarded by Sentinels.

Expedition List

Skystone Lock isn't particularly visited during any expedition. However, it is possible that Skystone Lock may have served as a connection between two locations during some expeditions. There may also be several instances of World Events in Freeplay that show up in or around this place.
