Skorpedons are insectoid creatures of Mirrus.
Etymology and Anatomy
Skorpedons are not shown, but are assumed to be a stinging species of insects found on the continent of Mirrus. They are known to have at least one stinger, which can be eaten, but with great difficulty.
Like most creatures of Coda, skorpedons have the organic acid in them.
Narrative Involvement
Skorpedons are very likely found in the Reaches, from where Zhim and Aushkiir originate. Life in places like Vadys within the Reaches was tough. Food was tough to source, so people resorted to eating hostile creatures such as Skorpedons and Mantikars.
In 468 LV, Zhim coerced Haluk to eat a Skorpedon stinger as a part of their deal to obtain the location of the Tomb of General Tarsis. Haluk reluctantly ate the highly acidic stinger as Faye and the Freelancer witnessed him consume it.

Trivia (May Contain Spoilers)
- Initially it would seem like Skorpedon was an error on the part of writing, where it was confused with Skorpion. But on a closer glance to any of the three (or four) types of Skorpions, the Skorpedon stinger doesn’t match the pincers or mandibles of Skorpions. So, they are different creatures.
