Shield of Dawn

The more I dig, the more I'm certain that the General's javelin is the key. At the Satomi in Fortuo, I found a moldy version of The Volume of Tarsis with scribbled notes in the margins - something about a "shield that kept her steady and repelled Fulminous' great breath." The Shield of Dawn usually referred to as the Dawn Shield is a Legendary shield that enables a javelin to enter the Heart of Rage.

This item needs to be crafted to progress in the critical path missions.

Obtaining Method

Unlock the mission Crafting the Dawn Shield and perform one of these two tasks to receive the blueprints to craft the Dawn Shield:

Blueprint #1

• Complete either The Emerald Abyss or Triple Threat storyline missions:
  • 100 Chimeric Alloy
  • 100 Chimeric Compounc
  • 50 Uncommon Ember
  • 10 Rare Ember
  • 3 Corium

Blueprint #2

• Completed both The Emerald Abyss and Triple Threat storyline missions:
  • 10 Chimeric Alloy
  • 10 Chimeric Compound
  • 5 Uncommon Ember
  • 1 Rare Ember
  • 3 Corium

Crafting Material Sources

• Chimeric Compound and Chimeric Alloy are found by harvesting or salvaging items in the Forge or the Vault.
• Uncommon and Rare Embers are found by harvesting or by opening Treasure Chests or by Salvaging.
• Corium can be found by defeating a titan or an escari.

Trivia

• The Dawn Shield is attached in a different location on each of the 4 javelins.
• Although corium has a model in-game, it always looks like a key item when obtained.
• A popup on the left side of the screen will confirm when a corium is collected.
• It is impossible to obtain more than 3 corium.
