An Active Shaper Ice Bubble during Icetide
Shaper Ice Globes or Shaper Globes or Ice Bubbles are globes that show up around the time of Icetide.
When the air becomes cold in Bastion, strange structures begin to pop out all around the country. These structures are globular in nature.They have four arches and spikes on the top inside them. When Icetide shows up, the land will be covered in snow. These ice bubbles become active.

Active Shaper globes create localized ice blizzards inside them. They also have a thin veil around their edges. This veil spin around the arches of the globe in is pale ice blue in color. The temperature inside these globes is colder than one could imagine—so cold that the pilot inside the temperature controlled javelin can feel the cold on the inside.
Ice Globes are perfect environments for a special flower called the Ice Flower to grow because of the extremely low temperature. The sap of this flower is considered valuable. So Arcanists and Engineers set up equipment to collect them. However, often outlaws try to steal the harvested coolant, turning this effort into a frenzy!
The blizzard is more aggressive than the cold environment outside the bubbles. It can also reduce visual clarity, especially around the time of dawn when the sun has just risen.
Anything inside these globes when active will have a snow-covered appearance on them.
Environmental Hazards[]
If an ice bubble is active, then the spikes at its top also become active and spin around. Touching this during an active Ice Flower Frenzy expedition will freeze the javelin and put it under a 
frozen status.
The temperature is so cold that it can make fauna such as Brutes, Wyverns, and Storm Wyverns go mad and berserk.
Locations[]
Ice Bubbles can show up in several locations of Bastion.However, in Northern Bastion. they only show up in 4 locations:
- At the First Refuge in the Academy Ruins
- Around the ruins of the Sanctuary of Dunar in the Emerald Abyss
- Near the Honor Valley in the Valley of Tarsis
- Around the Drill located in the Iron Serpent in Monument Watch
Finding these 4 Ice Globes and discovering their localized ice storms is necessary to complete the Season of Icetide Endurance Challenge called Exploration: Storm Chaser.
Trivia[]
- Ice bubbles are supposed to only show up during Icetide. But since Update 1.7.0, they still exist on the map, but aren't active until Icetide shows up again.
- Ice Bubbles might be a reference to snow globes.
