There is a mysterious Shaper energy source somewhere in Bastion. It is the Freelancer's choice to investigate this energy or ignore it, before it disappears.
Hints and Suggestions
- The dialog exchange between the characters will change depending on whether single player or multiplayer mode is played.
- Remember to perform Feats to obtain XP for increasing Pilot Level and receiving Alliance bonus.
- The Conjunction is a respawn restricted area. If a Freelancer is downed, they need to be revived by allies, otherwise, if they force respawn, they will be thrown out of the conjunction and back into Freeplay.
- This Conjunction has 3 tiers. At the completion of each tier, a Treasure Chest will be unlocked.
- Since this is a Shaper Structure based location, there are several Shaper Nodes around that can zap javelin thrusters and prevent flight.
- All the elementals that spawn are elite enemies, this means it is difficult to fight them head on. The best to do is evade them as when they explode, they can do a lot more damage than their standard counterparts. Doing blast damage from a distance is more beneficial, but keep evading the elemental projectiles they spit out.
- Ash Titans have armored health. They don’t do much damage. Using armor buster, acid or fire type damage is the best way to deal with them.
- Picking up relic fragments and inserting them into the volatile relic is not easy as the relic suppression field strips the Freelancer’s javelin from any held items. It must be done before the field touches the javelin. Using Interceptor javelins is the best strategy during this conjunction, and Colossus may be the worst. Its is still possible to do it using any javelin by using their multiple jumps and evading the elementals.
- Stay away from the Frost Elementals during Tier 2. As their projectiles or kamikaze explosions can freeze the Freelancer’s javelins instantly. This is especially true when near the volatile relic, as the elementals are mostly forming there. Quickly insert the fragment and move away.

Trivia (May Contain Spoilers)
- During Update 1.5.0, the only way to unlock this conjunction was to complete the mission Incursion and complete the following Freeplay World Events each time the conjunction had to be unlocked:
- This conjunction reuses the same map as the Spires Anomaly (Conjunction).
- The elementals encountered in this conjunction wear skulls!
Below is the Script and Walkthrough for Shaper Disturbance:
Briefing
Investigate Shaper Energy
There is a closed Storm Gate in the vicinity.
Storm Gate Opens In
The Freelancer may have to wait up to 4 minutes and 30 seconds for the storm gate to open. When the Storm Gate Opens, the Freelancer can enter it to reach to the conjunction.
In Expedition
When the storm gate opens,
- Faye: "Freelancer, look! We can head up into the storm cloud now."
The Freelancer can fly into the storm gate to reach Spires Anomaly.
Storm Gate Closes In
The Storm gate will close in 1 minute. There are several Elite Elementals that spawn out of gates for the Freelancer to defeat. Conjunction Initiated.
- Faye: "You need to be careful! There’s a titan nearby."
Conjunction Destabilizes In
The conjunction will destabilize in 10 minutes. So, it must be contained within that time, failing which, the Freelancer will be put back into Northern Bastion and may not end up collecting all the loot rewards.
Defeat the Titans
As a matter of fact, there are two titans nearby.
The Freelancer fights and defeats the two Lesser Ash Titans, both marked with
icon.
Collect Rewards
The Freelancer can collect the unlocked rewards.
- Faye: "See to that relic. It won’t last long. One more thing—there’s a relic suppression field forming. Putting this relic back together just got harder."
At this point, the unstable relic marked with
breaks into 7 fragments.
Fragments Recovered
The fragmants can be located using the help of the radar. The Freelancer recovers all the fragments by evading the suppression field and the Frost Elementals, and inserts them into the volatile relic marked with
icon.
- Faye: "That’s all of them. Well done."
Collect Rewards
The Freelancer can collect the unlocked rewards. Tier 2 ends here. Tier 3 starts here.
- Faye: "We’ve got more company headed his way!"
A monstrous titan gates in!
Defeat Titan
The Freelancer fights and defeats the Legendary Ancient Ash Titan causing the disturbance. If the Freelancer defeats the titan before it explodes on its own, the rewards dropped from it will have a higher chance of being better in quality.
- Faye: "Now that was a good show."
Collect Rewards
The Freelancer can collect the unlocked rewards.
Storm Gate Closes In
The Freelancer has 1 minute to explore or collect rewards before the conjunction closes and takes them back to Northern Bastion.
Post Expedition
Collect all the rewards dropped by the enemies and all the rewards from the 3 Treasure Chests. The Freelancer can force respawn out of the conjunction or, be transported into Freeplay when the conjunction closes.
Notes and Remarks
- The 3 tiers aren’t distinctly marked by the game. However, the part where each Treasure Chest is collected can be considered the end of a tier.
- The dialogs mentioned in the script can vary across different play-throughs and different repetition of the game modes. The dialog will be taken from a pool that get rotated in-game. The script mentioned here is from one such instance only.
