Sanctuary of Dunar Shaper Ice Globe is a special environment, located in the nation of Bastion, on the planet Coda, as of the year 468 LV.
History
Shaper Ice Globes such as the one found in Sanctuary of Dunar show up only during the time of Icetide or winter. It is unknown if they only show up in random locations, or in specific locations.
During the winter of 468 LV, four mysterious Shaper Globes with localized ice storms inside them showed up. One of them was in Sanctuary of Dunar. Coolant Harvest Events took place inside this globe, which was hindered by outlaw presence. Fortunately, the harvest was successful and plenty of Ice Flower Sap was gathered by the Freelancer and other lancers alike.
Geography and Layout
Sanctuary of Dunar Shaper Ice Globe Entrance
The Shaper Ice Globe has the regular structures of Sanctuary of Dunar inside it. The globe itself is ellipsoid in shape with spikes of ice inside its top. The shape is held together by four curved structures, each having several glowing spots that remain inactive when not Icetide.
When winter arrives, the icy spikes on the top start rotating and touching them will instantly freeze anything! A frigid storm brews inside the globe which is a suitable temperature for the growth of Ice Flower plant. The globe is surrounded by a thin veil of unknown energy which prevents the extreme cold from escaping. The rotating spikes also produce a unique aurora-like glow and a swirl of frost around it. The spots on the curved structure glow an icy blue during winter.

Whether by accident or intelligent design, frosty Shaper ice globes suddenly appear throughout Bastion, chilling the air from sea to mountains. The drop in the temperature dresses the world in sparkly white and brings many welcome changes--most notably, the emergence of the rare Ice Flower plant. The sap of the Ice Flower is very valuable and its harvest becomes a frenzy.
Along-side the serious and dangerous work of harvest, there is fun to be had. The accompanying festival is cheerful and sometimes wild. Pilots take breaks to zip through the frosty air on challenging race courses. People give gifts and attend ice-bath parties. Snowball fights are common but always in good fun.
Although never predictable in its timing, Icetide is welcome whenever it arrives. |
