Rust Reaver is the final Scar Boss encountered during the mission Lost Arcanist.
This scar appears at the end of the mission or legendary mission trying to stop the Freelancer from rescuing Matthais.
Overview[]
During the Lost Arcanist mission, an elite Scar Enforcer acts as Rust Reaver as Luminary tanks aren't revealed in the story yet.
However, in Legendary: Lost Arcanist Rust Reaver is an Escari to balance out the Grandmaster difficulties.
It would appear as if Matthias Sumner was being followed by this particular scar because it was distressed by the Dominion activity in Bastion.
Rust Reaver finally appears around the end of the mission because the freelancer had defeated numerous scars including enforcers and hunters.

Rust Reaver as a Scar Enforcer
Rust Reaver behaves as a standard elite Scar Enforcer in the story mission. It can use its flamethrower and shield bash. Its weak points are located in the red fuel tanks. Since it is an elite enemy, it has much higher health.
The Luminary version of Rust Reaver encountered in the Legendary Mission is also Elite and uses the standard attacks, but has higher health. It can snipe shoot its enemies chosen at random, and fire homing missiles. It becomes Legendary if there are 4 freelancers in the squad. The weak points are located on its pneumatic legs.

- The dialog in both the mission and the legendary mission refers to Rust Reaver only as "that thing." This is likely done so that the Legendary Mission version could replace the enforcer with the escari.
