After the verbal disagreement between Faye and Haluk and the imminent danger from which the two Freelancers escaped, the Cypher is disappointed in herself.
Whatever Seal-fragment that Owen gave to the Freelancer could be a hoax. But it is worth checking it out with Faye. But first, the Freelancer must find her in Fort Tarsis because she is not in the enclave.

Trivia (May Contain Spoilers)
- The first cut scene with Faye happens in an inaccessible area of Fort Tarsis courtyard.
- Faye is so smart that she instantly figured out that the seal fragment given by Owen would work because it was taken from the Javelin of Dawn. This only exemplifies the capability of cyphers’ mental aptitude.
- The Freelancer can do exactly one mission or contract or stronghold or cataclysm or Freeplay session after this mission, if they return to Fort Tarsis after finishing that match. If they return to Fort Tarsis, they will be forced to do the final mission.
Below is the Script and Walkthrough for Repairs and Inspiration (Mission):
Briefing
After returning with Haluk in Roland’s strider, the Freelancer wants to find out if the Seal Fragment given by Owen is legitimate. They look for the Cypher who is missing from the enclave.

In Expedition
The Freelancer walks into the Fort Tarsis Freelancer Enclave to Find Faye. Since she is not present over there, they head into the Fort Tarsis Courtyard.
Give the Seal Fragment to Faye
The Freelancer finds Faye.
Find Faye
Faye is sitting on a ledge watching the activities within the Fort’s main courtyard. The Freelancer goes to her.
- The Freelancer: "This is nice. Secret spot?"
- Faye: "Yeah. Takes a little extra to quiet a cypher’s mind."
- The Freelancer: "You doing okay?"
- Faye: "Oh yeah, fantastic. Just questioning the nature of existence, why I’m here, why you’re here… the Shapers… the Anthem… Life. Friendship. Hope."
The Freelancer goes closer to her.
- The Freelancer: "So just the little things. Would you rather be alone?"
- Faye: "No no no, I’m—glad you’re here."
Faye forces a smile on her deeply hurt face and looks at the Freelancer. She pats the empty space beside her on the ledge. The Freelancer sits next to her.
- Faye: "You know when you first showed up at Princess Zhim's, I wasn’t sure this was gonna work out."
- The Freelancer: "So then why call Tassyn?"
- Faye: "I was desperate."
- The Freelancer: "(Scoffs.) Thanks."
- Faye: "Actually, any hesitation was more about Haluk than you. I wasn’t sure he’d ever accept you back. And then—when he said “welcome aboard”—it’s fantastic. I’ve watched him come alive since you came back."
The Freelancer looks at the courtyard.
- Faye: "He’s up early, working on his suit, poring over maps, humming. Thank you for that."
- The Freelancer: "Never mind Haluk and me—what about you?"
The Freelancer looks at Faye.
- Faye: "Me? Well, let’s see: It's my fault that the team's broken up, that our mission failed, and Tassyn's about to send Sentinels in, probably to their deaths. And yet with all of that, I'm mostly upset that I won't ever hear the Anthem again. That's crazy, right?"
- The Freelancer: "Seems to have that effect on people."
- Faye: "(Sighs.) Plus I’ve hurt my oldest friend."
- The Freelancer: "Where is he?"
- Faye: "Don’t know. He doesn’t speak to me much."
- The Freelancer: "Look, I get it. But please don’t take all the blame. I’ve brought you something. Owen gave it to me. Fun story for another time. What do you think—can we use that to perfect ours?"
The Freelancer hands the seal fragment given by Owen to Faye whose face brightens up eyes twinkle.
- Faye: "Yes, of course! Why didn’t you lead with this?"
Faye stands up.
- The Freelancer: "You’re my friend–I was listening. You know, like a good person."
Faye examines the seal and helps the Freelancer stand up by grabbing their arm.
- Faye: "It’s amazing. Have you told Tassyn?"
- The Freelancer: "Not yet. I needed to make sure Owen wasn’t, you know, lying."
Faye chuckles.
- Faye: "Uh… huh, fair point. Well, he’s not! I’m gonna let her know we’re back in action."
Faye returns the seal to the Freelancer.
- The Freelancer: "Okay. I’ll meet you at Haluk’s javelin in the enclave."
As Faye walks away in excitement, she grabs a support column and looks at the Freelancer.
- Faye: "Haluk."
- The Freelancer: " We’ll figure it out. Our people need us to stop the Monitor. No one. Nothing’s more important."
Faye jumps on the stairs and as she is about to leave, looks at the Freelancer again
- Faye: "Yeah… we’re actually going to do this. (Laughs.)"
The Freelancer jumps onto the stairs.
Finish the Dawn Shield
The Freelancer must find Haluk to finish the Dawn Shield based on the newly obtained details.
Find Haluk
The Freelancer then goes to the enclave to see whether Haluk is doing okay and if the Dawn Shield can be fixed. Haluk is repairing his javelin using a socket wrench when the Freelancer disturbs him. Haluk taps the knee of his javelin using the wrench and throws it away.
- The Freelancer: "Brought you something, Haluk."
Haluk gets up to take the seal from the Freelancer.
- Haluk: "(Grunts.)"
Haluk smirks and examines the seal fragment. He is very excited
- Haluk: "Ooo hooo, this is good! (Laughs.)"
- Freelancer: "Owen thinks it is the key to making the Dawn Shield work."
- Haluk: "Owen?"
- The Freelancer: "He knew you’d figure it out eventually."
- Haluk (in a mocking tone): "Uhhh, that’s nice of him, I guess. Two-faced bastard."
Haluk jumps down from the Launch Pad.
- Haluk: "Hey, listen. (Grunts.) I was thinking about what you said about being a team—my ego. That was probably hard to say to my face… but I needed it. Thanks for the kick in the ass, partner."
Haluk extends his hand. The Freelancer shakes it with their own.
- Haluk: "Ahh… umm… has Faye seen this? ‘Cause I can’t figure this on my own."
- The Freelancer: "As luck would have it, here she is."
Faye comes inside the enclave. Haluk and Faye look at each other.
- Faye: "Haluk."
- Haluk: "Faye."
- Faye: "I am so sorry. I…"
- Haluk: "No, Faye—I am sorry. I used to be the best damned Freelancer in all of Bastion. But not anymore—pisses me off! I forced you to go behind my back because I didn’t want to be a burden."
- Faye: "Caring about a friend isn’t a burden—it’s a gift."
Faye pats Haluk’s shoulder. Haluk gently clasps her hand and looks at the Freelancer.
- Haluk: "(Exhales.) Let’s get to work!"
As Faye pat’s Haluk’s shoulder while smiling at him, he smiles and lets her hand go
- Faye: "Okay, thank you."
- Haluk: "(Grunts.) …There it is… (Grunts.)"
Faye and Haluk climb the launch pad and examine Haluk’s javelin while looking at the seal fragment that Owen gave. Then Faye waves the seal at the Freelancer
- Faye: "Oh, we’ll take care of this. You go make sure everything else is ready to head into that storm."
- The Freelancer: "Got it."
Faye goes to Haluk’s workstation by his javelin to take something.
- Faye: "Okay… (Exhales.)"
- Haluk: "(Laughs.) …All right… (Exhales.)"
