Raban Maur was a prominent Arcanist of his time and the first to earn acclaim for studying Shaper instruments. He didn't share his discoveries though, but instead hid the documents behind layers of riddles and security.
Maur was the primary author of the Elysian Manuscript, which is the subject of the quest chain Elysian Secrets. During that mission, Matti reveals that Maur locked a data archive in the vault of a Shaper ruin near Giant's Crossroads he was known to have studied extensively.
