Eddian Grove (District)
See Cortex Entry: Eddian Grove (District) for More Details

The Eddian Grove in a must-see for day trips. These are the only plants of this species in existence, and while they have a tree-like structure, Arcanists are divided over whether or not it is a tree. As Tansy Hull wrote in her book The Joy of Botany, “It has a trunk, yet its top is soil and grass. Without foliage, I can hardly consider it a tree.” Regardless, if you happen to make it there, you can rest on its grassy tops and watch the clouds roll by or stars twinkling in the sky.

North Rock (District)
See Cortex Entry: North Rock (District) for More Details

Once you’ve enjoyed the intricate structures of Anshar, head out of Shadowmark to this delightful picnic spot. Nothing goes better with a saltberry sandwich and a cup of tea than the vista from North Rock. This secure location is where Shadowmark holds their annual summer festival. While not as large as Freemark's tournament, it's still a delightful place to watch lancers battle it out for the big prize in the spirit of sportsmanship.

Freemark: Living Up to Its Name...
See Cortex Entry: Freemark: Living Up to Its Name... for More Details

One of the oldest cities in Bastion, second only to Antium in population. Be sure to see the legendary sculpture "The Colossus of Tarsis," observe some of the early Legion architecture, and visit the colorful marketplace and Freelancer wall. Freemark is also known for its thriving culinary scene. When on the north side, take an hour to have some spiced tea at the Blue Wyvern, or roast korox at Tempo's grill. Then prepare to dance the night away at "The Happy Anzu."

Picturesque Antium
See Cortex Entry: Picturesque Antium for More Details

Any quest south of the mountains must include a trip to Antium. One of the first free human cities, Antium is a hub of trade; there are merchants and vendors of almost every kind, selling goods from Fortuo to the Mirelands. Make sure to stay in—or just off of—"Old Town," where you can enjoy Vassa-era architecture, as well as the famous Moon Clock, then take the bridge over to New Town to visit their Hall of Heroes. Antium is home to Bastion's royal family, who have recently made their palace garden open to the public and, let me tell you, being able to sit and enjoy nature without the fear of being mauled to death is a genuine luxury, not to be missed.

Fort Tarsis (12)
See Cortex Entry: Fort Tarsis (12) for More Details

On your way through to Freemark, you'll have to stop at Fort Tarsis, which is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some of Bastion's most enchanting vistas. The fort sits on top of the breathtaking Tarsis Falls, which flow into a series of smaller falls, attracting a large variety of fauna to the area, which you can safely observe from strong, elevated walls. If sticking around for a day trip, check out the underground passage beneath the fort, once said to be home to the famous Ezurite Anzu, and then jet off for visit to the Haven, Honor Valley Dam, or the awe inspiring Ring Gate. Finish off your day with a nightcap at the local bar "The Shifty Korox," which is under new management.
