Parasitic Flora is a hostile type flora that could possibly do damage to living and non-living things on Coda. It may even do possibly damage to javelins in its vicinity. Contact with this dangerous plant-life can be lethal to living organisms. Humans dealing with Parasitic Flora must handle it with care. Parasitic Flora can be found growing in open spaces.

Etymology and Anatomy

Many local flora of the Emerald Abyss are parasitic in nature. They are colored vibrantly to attract the herbivorous fauna of the area. Once eaten, these flora grow out of the stomachs of the poor creature.

Narrative Involvement

Most fauna of Coda is indeed hostile. Naturally, flora such as these parasitic ones tend to exist and thrive because of local fauna finding them attractive and delicious.

Depending on the chemical makeup of the creatures in the area, local growths respond by taking on different attractive colors, hoping to be eaten. Once consumed, they will grow inside the unfortunate creature's stomach and burst forth to create a new cycle of growth and life.

Behavior and Abilities

Parasitic flora seem docile, but once they end up inside the stomachs of any interested fauna, they will grow from its inside and end up killing the creature. Fortunately, such plants are not what humans consume.

Hidden Attributes

  • Attractive Colors
    • These parasitic plants are attractive and vibrantly colored which causes local fauna to find them appetizing.

Trivia (May Contain Spoilers)

  • It is unknown if all flora types of Bastion behave this way, or if it is true for only certain unnamed flora. The latter has a high possibility, since even humans have to eat food, and do not end up with plants growing out of their stomachs.
  • Anthem is the game which has the most unique number of plant or flora designs when compared to any other Bioware game.
