Outlaw Gunners are common outlaw enemies found during times of combat.
Etymology and Anatomy
Gunners get their name from Gunner (One who operates guns). They are outfitted in an army green clothing. They wear a helmet with a fluorescent visor, making it easy to identify them when in lush green environments.
Outlaw Gunners equip knee and elbow guards. They also wear a cape, giving them a unique look among outlaws. It is not very clear but assumed that the kinetic shields they have are because of this cape, very likely modified from the one worn by the Valkyrie Javelin.
Outlaw Gunners use a Rapid firing Heavy Machine Gun that has 3 nozzles.
Narrative Involvement
Outlaw Gunners are found in every outlaw related encounter. They are usually elites during a battle, but there have been incidents of Legendary Outlaw Gunners, especially when dealing with the Symposium of Anshar.

Behavior and Abilities
Outlaw Gunners come into the battlefield along with the foot soldiers during the initial fight. They do not spawn during later times.
Outlaw Gunners have the following ability:
- Heavy Machine Gun: Outlaw Gunners use a moderately damaging rapid-firing Heavy Machine Gun.
Hidden Attributes
Outlaw Gunners have one hidden attribute:
- No Aim, No Fire: Outlaw Gunners can only fire their weapon when taking aim. And when taking aim, they cannot move around.
- Boosted Jump: Outlaw Gunners can jump to higher surfaces using the hidden boosters attached to their boots.

Overview
Outlaw Gunner Fires after Taking Position
Outlaw gunners cannot move around the battlefield when they are taking aim to fire. This means, if their foes are close by, they try to relocate to a different position and won’t be able to do damage.
When a Gunners take position, they kneel and hold their heavy weapon to take aim at their foe. Once they begin firing, it takes a while before they stop as their weapon has high magazine rounds, letting them do a sustained damage to their foes. What’s worse is each time they fire, there is an annoying gatling sound and blinking of the screen, regardless of the amount of kinetic shields or health remaining on an foe.
This makes it important to get to Outlaw Gunners as quickly as possible, even before targeting lower rank foes. They can reach higher ground using their boosters, so keep an eye out for one trying to reach upper levels of terrain or platforms.
Doing damage to or defeating the Outlaw Gunners can make them drop ammo and repair packs. If health or ammo is low, collect these resupplies.
Combat
The first ordeal is to deplete their shields. It is easy for standard Gunners. But for Elite and Legendary ones, it can be a hassle unless lightning or shield breaker damage is being done, especially when the Gunner is firing. Take cover if necessary.
Once the shields are depleted, it is quite easy to take them down: any blast damage or doing damage to their weak point will do the trick.

There are no named Outlaw Gunners. But there is one Gunner worth mentioning as this one packs quite the punch, especially on low rarity javelins in non-GM difficulties:

- Outlaw Gunners have 5 white stripes on their left arm (the highest among all outlaws).
- Outlaw Gunner’s Heavy Machine Gun looks quite similar to the Autocannon used by Freelancers, but not entirely.
- The ability names are taken from the Anthem Prima Guide and data mined files. They may have been slightly modified to avoid confusion with other in-game names.
