Other Vines lists all the other and lesser known vines of Coda. They are found in many places, including wilderness and settlements. Vines are creepers that can grow on anything that can support them; some can even grow on the surface of water!

Ivy Vine

Etymology and Anatomy

Ivy Vine are woody vines with uniquely shaped leaves. The leaves resemble stars. There are thorns growing on their stalks.These flora are found growing in open spaces. These plants tend to thrive in most locations. Because of their nature, they provide a pleasant ambience during exploration.

Narrative Involvement

These vines are found in Northern Bastion. They do not hold much significance, apart from the fact that they make the scenery more enticing when the Freelancer flies outside the walls and when they are in some Shaper structure.

Trivia (May Contain Spoilers)

  • This plant isn’t named in Anthem. So, in this section, it is named after its real-world counterpart.
  • Ivy Vine is one of the two known plants whose color doesn’t completely change during winter. This one keeps its greens, while parts of it turns red.

Shaper Vine

Etymology and Anatomy

Shaper Vines are unique vines that appear to have been corrupted by Shaper energy. This is not confirmed explicitly, but they are completely black in color. Some have the Shaper energy flowing through them, which is always shown by the bright blue glow like other instances. This may have chimerified or energized them—although there is no damaged done by them to any javelin. Their black coloration is an odd appearance for plants in Coda.These flora are found growing in open spaces. These plants tend to thrive in most locations. Because of their nature, they provide a pleasant ambience during exploration.

Narrative Involvement

In 468 LV, when the Freelancer was trying to find the location of the Javelin of Dawn, there were three gauntlets which had to be passed to enter the sanctum where this jav was preserved. The three gauntlets had Shaper vines growing inside them.

Suspended Vines are thick vines that seem so heavy, that they show up like suspended chains among other vines. They reason they are classified as a different variety when compared t the mor eocmmon Woody Vine, is because of the shape of ther leaves. Suspended vines either have no leaves, or have very sparsely distributed leaves on their stalks.These flora are found growing in open spaces. These plants tend to thrive in most locations. Because of their nature, they provide a pleasant ambience during exploration.

These vines are found in Northern Bastion. They do not hold much significance, apart from the fact that they make the scenery more enticing when the Freelancer flies outside the walls and when they are in some Shaper structure.
