Moonpod is a non-hostile type flora that grows on planet Coda. It is quite mesmerizing to watch these plant-life. Moonpod is used as an ornamental plant. Because of their appearance, they are valued for its beauty and used in decorations.
Etymology and Anatomy
Moonpod gets its name from the portmanteau of “Moon” and Pod. Their shape looks like the “blue” colored moon of Coda. Moonpods contain dust inside them and when their pods burst open, the dust-spores are released in the form of a stagnated mist.
Moonpods are pale-blue in color. They have a large bulb attached to a narrow stem. They usually are fixed to the ground and do not sway or move around. They can have various sizes, but their pods are shaped like a spheroid. They have a faint bluish glow near the base of each pod.
Narrative Involvement
Moonpod Lagoon is a district in the Academy Ruins Subregion. Although, it is not really a lagoon, as of 468 LV, it is filled with moonpods. Moonpod Lagoon is the setting of Tessi the Tesilar children’s book.
The Freelancer can encounter moonpods in various locations during combat or exploration in 468 LV. Moonpods especially formed under Storm Clouds of various anomalies when Echoes of Reality started encroaching Northern Bastion.

Behavior and Abilities
Moonpods are not known to cause any trouble. They are harmless and are pleasant to look at. They do not do any damage to any javelin, or other living or non-living things.
Moonpods are fungi-like plant lifeforms. Although, they are not classified under fungi type flora. They tend to grow in damp and dark areas, especially in the presence of clean or freshwater. They also like to grow around large crystal mounds under storm clouds.

- Destroying moonpods will create dust-like spores all around the flora. This dust lingers for a while. However, it does not do any damage.
- Bioluminescence
- Moonpods have a faint bluish vein-like spots on their base that can glow.
