The following excerpts from the a wide range of literature and information give some insights about Mirelands.
Haluk (1)
See Cortex Entry: Haluk (1) for More Details

Haluk was the Freelancer's mentor and a leader during the attempt to silence the Heart of Rage years ago. He and the Freelancer then parted on bad terms. Originally from the Mirelands, Haluk was a high-spirited leader among the Freelancers, though the failure at the Heart of Rage made him grumpy, argumentative, and jaded.

Anzu (1)
See Cortex Entry: Anzu (1) for More Details

The word "Anzu" is a group term for any creature formed at the dawn of creation, not of the natural world. When the Shapers departed, the Anzu were left to fend for themselves. Some survived, some did not.
Though most references to Anzu live in folk tales and children's stories, our world does have a considerable number of pre-urgoth structures. The Sunken Garden submerged in the center of Shadowmark, The Vault of Monument Watch, and The Golden Monolith of the Mirelands possess similar architecture not associated with Shapers, humans, or urgoth, and perpetuate the myth of ancient beings from long ago.

The Legion of Dawn (3)
See Cortex Entry: The Legion of Dawn (3) for More Details

The Legion left monuments throughout Bastion, and into the Reaches and Mirelands, but the meanings of these artifacts have been lost. Were the statues depicting real people? Were they celebrations of victories or memorials for the fallen? We may never know.

Might Valor Resolve
This chain was started in the hope of bringing prosperity to you. The original copy is from the Mirelands. It has been sent around the world nine times.
Within three days, make five copies of this letter and send it to five of your friends to whom you wish prosperity to come.
Make sure to send this only to people who will not break the chain. Do not keep this letter; it must leave your hands in 72 hours. This is not a joke.
A Sentinel Commander in Antium was promoted to Argentum after passing this letter along. A Freelancer in Fortuo won a new javelin in a card game and then was killed by a chimera because he broke the chain. Send five copies and see what happens on the 4th day.
DO NOT IGNORE IT. IT WORKS!

Picturesque Antium
See Cortex Entry: Picturesque Antium for More Details

Any quest south of the mountains must include a trip to Antium. One of the first free human cities, Antium is a hub of trade; there are merchants and vendors of almost every kind, selling goods from Fortuo to the Mirelands. Make sure to stay in—or just off of—"Old Town," where you can enjoy Vassa-era architecture, as well as the famous Moon Clock, then take the bridge over to New Town to visit their Hall of Heroes. Antium is home to Bastion's royal family, who have recently made their palace garden open to the public and, let me tell you, being able to sit and enjoy nature without the fear of being mauled to death is a genuine luxury, not to be missed.

(The following notes were recovered from a dead courier by Sentinel Dinix. Their author has not been located.).
Sitting here, looking at this tracking device glued to my nipple, and wondering where I glitched up.
As Zhim puts it, this is my "last chance." Posing as a hired gun, I'm to escort a strider across Bastion to the Antium Lock, and fight off anyone in the way. There, I'll hijack the strider, kill the crew, and transfer it to Zhim's axe-men. My pay is a "retirement" package and a one-way Regulator escort to the Mirelands. Guess I pissed Zhim off.
Never said why she wanted the strider. Must be important. Because she glued this tracker to my nipple.
It was my last good nipple, and I shall sorely miss it

So who did I see yesterday signing for the delivery of an entire crate of those weird green spiky fruits from the Mirelands? You guessed it. Because I put his name in the title of this message
Anyway, Vule was about a thousand times more sketchy about this than the lemon fruit. He met the strider driver in the middle of the night and made sure to clear out all the Sentinels from the strider bay first. Like... what's so embarrassing about gross Mirelands fruit that the other Sentinels couldn't know he bought all that stuff? And what's he possibly going to do with an entire crate of fruit no Sentinel can see? Will keep you posted as this develops.
