General Flora

Minor Plants are other lesser plants that usually do not have a proper structure to them to be categorized into other flora types. they are almost always found growing uncontrollably everywhere, occupying any open space they can!

The following are the minor plants that are recognized:

Bioluminescent Moss Orange

Etymology and Anatomy

The Orange colored bioluminescent bryophyta or moss are found in some cavelets. They glow a bright orange glow and are usually seen along with Red Fungi. These flora are found growing in open spaces. These plants tend to thrive in most locations. Because of their nature, they provide a pleasant ambience during exploration.

Narrative Involvement

Some minor caverns that the Freelancer has visited have orange bioluminescent moss on their walls. This particular-colored moss is quite rare when compared to others. Sumner once took a lot of the bryophyta to write Aruna's name all across Fort Tarsis. He apparently stole it from many sources, including Arcanist labs and Brin's office in 468 LV. Although the color of the glowing bryophyta isn’t confirmed.

Trivia (May Contain Spoilers)

  • This plant isn’t named in Anthem. So, in this section, it is named after its real-world counterpart and appearance.
  • There will always be Red Fungi wherever orange bioluminescent moss is shown growing.

Lichen

Etymology and Anatomy

Lichens are simple slow-growing plant that typically forms a low crusty, leaflike, or branching growth on rocks, walls, and trees. This also includes ruins and Shaper structures. These flora are found growing in open spaces. These plants tend to thrive in most locations. Because of their nature, they provide a pleasant ambience during exploration.

Narrative Involvement

The Freelancer has encountered several overgrowth of lichens in damp Shaper ruins. They are also occasionally found on the bark of trees. Lichens are difficult to identify as they tend to be small.

Trivia (May Contain Spoilers)

  • This plant isn’t named in Anthem. So, in this section, it is named after its real-world counterpart.
  • The crust-like growth of lichen shown in the image here looks similar to the crust-like snow or frost formations outside the walls of Fort Tarsis during winter, but with a color swap to white.

Cortex

Check Cortex Entry: Mail: This isn’t a Cry for Help for More Information

I need help, and I haven't been able to pry Matti and Erryl away from Faye's collection of Dawnguard tapes long enough to get a coherent word out of either one.

So you're it.

Lucky you.

Hypothetically, someone—let's call him "Shmatthias"—had too much to drink one night and decided to write Aruna's name in bioluminescent bryophyta across half the buildings in Fort Tarsis in such a way that it could only be read from her apartment window.

To accomplish this task, drunk idiot Shmatthias may or may not have broken into the labs of several other Arcanists in the Fort to obtain said glowy moss, and then, when that didn't turn out to be enough to finish the last letter, also snuck into Sentinel Brin's office and stole all of hers.

If something this foolish had happened, hypothetically, could you hypothetically smooth things over with Brin before she conducts a hypothetical investigation?

Admitting to nothing,

Sumner

Special Trivia

  • Anthem is the game which has the most unique number of plant or flora designs when compared to any other Bioware game, especially when seasonal changes are considered.
  • There may be more than the flora types mentioned here that are easily missed because of the sheer size of the map of Anthem and the already existing biodiversity.
