Metal: Damascus Swirls looks like and has the feel of a glinting metallic surface. It is classified as a Metal Material.
These are a class of Cosmetic items that can be used to personalize javelins in the Forge by providing textures, shades, and bumps on the applied surface. These items are used to provide a personalized finish to a javelin through Paint Jobs.
Application in the Forge
Metal: Damascus Swirls can be colored to look unique through Paint Jobs. Depending on the type of Wear State equipped, the applied Paint Job will look different.
Open the Forge. Select the javelin whose materials needs changing. Now select the Appearance Tab on the top-left of the page. Click on the Paint Job slot.
Using the below section as a reference, select the material placed on the left by clicking on it. Then choose the metal plating by selecting the metallic color placeholder on the right side.

Note: Because of a bug, the Appearance Tab of the Forge is available outside the walls, even though it is not supposed to be. However, it is grayed out. But, it can still be opened and cosmetic changes can be made to the javelin when outside the fort walls!
