
An Inversion changes the way the Javelin interacts with the environment and enemies. Some Inversions will cause impediments while others are a boon. Ultimately, they change the playing experience within the competitive expeditions and encourage diverse playstyles.
During the original run of Echoes of Reality, two inversions were up during each week. When Icetide was released, Seasonal Strongholds were made available with two inversions active during each stronghold in it.
Starting from update 1.7.0, Festive events were released. With them, Seasonal Expeditions which consisted of Echoes of Reality (Game Mode) (Both Original and the Season of Skulls variant) and Seasonal Strongholds were made available to the players. Each Seasonal Expedition also has two Inversions active.
There are 12 known inversions currently available in the game with special icons to represent them..
There are also additional Inversions that are listed in the Cortex within the Tutorials Main section. However, they aren't available for the players because they were never active during any game mode. There are 5 such unused inversions. These do not have any associated icons in-game.
