Ice an Elemental type of damage that can slow down and eventually freeze enemies, covering them in white bluish-ice. This frozen effect makes enemies immobile until the effect wears off.
Ice damage floaties are blue in color.
Mechanism[]
Ice damage can do 1x the damage mentioned in the details of any weapon or gear without considering additional bonuses and multipliers. However, when an enemy is under the Acid Status, the net damage becomes 1.25x. Targets weakened by support gear will receive 1.33x the damage. Enemies under both acid status and weakened through support will receive 1.67x the net damage.
Armored Targets[]
Ice is weak towards Armored targets (yellow health) dealing 0.75x the damage mentioned in the statistics of Combat Equipment. If the target is under Acid Status, then the net damage done will be 0.94x. If additional weakening effects from support gears are considered, it can do 1x. If both Acid Status and weakening effects from the support is considered, the net damage will be 1.25x.
Shielded Targets[]
Ice is effective against Shielded targets (blue health) dealing 1.25x the damage mentioned in the statistics of the Combat Equipment. If additional weakening effect from supports are considered, then the net damage will be 1.67x. Shielded targets cannot be primed or under status effect unless their shields are depleted. So, once the shields are depleted, which is easier with ice damage, they can be under status effect easily. Enemies with ice Resistant Shields receive 0x ice damage to their shields.
Other Features[]
Ice damage has several other features:
- Ice can be used to prime enemies if the combat equipment is a Primer. Enemies primed with ice will have
ice primed icon hovering above them.
- Ice can be used to detonate combos if the combat equipment is a Detonator.
- Ice Blast Damage does the same damage as mentioned above, but within a blast radius.
- Ice Damage over time can only be increased by using elemental damage inscriptions or Ice Sigils.
- Ice can be found in the environment in the form of ice geysers during intense Shaper activities such as Cataclysms. They can also form under Shaper Crystals/ Stepping into such geysers can do ice damage and induce a frozen status to anybody.
- A Frozen status is induced if the sap from Ice Flowers or the Icy Spikes of the Shaper Ice Globes are touched when they are active.
- Ice canisters can be found in places of combat. If they are destroyed or if they explode, they release a pool of ice which can do damage to anyone inside the region and freeze them until it disappears.

Trivia[]
- Ice damage can make enemies move slower.
- Ice is the only environmental hazard that hasn’t been seen naturally in-game. It has only existed during the times of cataclysms and Icetide.
- Ice and Fire related damages, statuses, and primed statuses cancel each other out.
- In-fact, fires on Coda are so potent, that they can only be stopped with the help of Ice.
- Ice Damage and Status effect inducing capabilities can be improved by using Ice Sigil.
- In lore, Ice Sigils can make any weapon to deal Ice damage. This hasn’t been seen as an in-game mechanism as of Update 1.4.0.
