Grey Steppes is a region, located in the nation of Bastion, on the planet Coda, as of the year 468 LV. Not much is known about Grey Steppes and its history, only that it is a location very far away from places like Antium and Fort Tarsis.
It is unconfirmed if Grey Steppes is a region within Bastion or its own or a part of a different nation. But the fact that there is a friendly connection between the Arcanists of the two places, it is assumed to be a region. This must be updated when more information is revealed.
History
Much of the Grey Steppes’ history isn’t revealed. It is known that a book called The Korox Whisperer was published here. This is also where a Freelancer called Beckman stole blueprints of the prototype of the weapon Rainmaker and disappeared just before making a last stand in the middle of a lightning storm to stop the Dominion behind his back.
Geography and Layout
The only clue about this region is that steppes are a form of short grass. The word Grey Steppes might be a clue to the existence of large plains and fields of gray (grey) grass all over the region. Regardless, just like all places of Coda, the Grey Steppes are bound to have Shaper structures, and a wide variety of flora and fauna.
Grey Steppes is much farther than Fortuo, which is found in the western or southwestern side of Bastion. The new Songbird Amplifier, is so powerful that it can even reach the steppes.

There are datamined cortex entries that suggest that the people Grey Steppes are constantly at war with an unrevealed faction, as claimed by the notes of a Lancer Steff.
When the Cenotaph caused the Heart of Rage, Arcanists from Grey Steppes began to report overloading instruments, including the Shaper instruments, which started to give out Shaper energy.
