Freemark Region is a region, located in the nation of Bastion, on the planet Coda, as of the year 468 LV. Freemark Region is a location to the North and Northwest side of Bastion. It is thought to be its own region because there is a Strider Lock for Striders to enter this location. The real name of this region is unrevealed. The page will be updated when it is made known.
History
Freemark Region has existed for as long as Coda has. It only became a part of Bastion after the disbanding of the legion of Dawn. Freemark region has been mostly under the control of the Freelancers faction until the destruction of the proud city of Freemark in 458 LV by the Dominion, who tried to harness a Shaper relic called the Cenotaph.
Unfortunately, while trying to control the Cenotaph to harness the Anthem of Creation, the relic went haywire, unleashing the largest cataclysm ever recoreded called the Heart of Rage. It took a decade to silence this cataclysm. but by then, the damage was done, and the city and its surroundings were ruined. It is unknown how much of the region was was affected, but the Heart of Rage's effect caused the city of Shadowmark in the neighboring Northern Bastion region to be abandoned completely.
in 468 LV, the Heart of Rage was silenced. The Shaper Storm surrounding the ruins of Freemark and lingering above the Cenotaph Ruins was silenced. The region may never recover from this heavy casualty.
Geography and Layout
Freemark region, before 458 LV, was a green paradise. Not as verdant as the Emerald Abyss of Northern Bastion, but still very beautiful. Shaper Structures were present everywhere. In fact, the city of Freemark was built atop one such structure and surrounded by flora, mostly forests. There are rivers, hills, and a wide variety of fauna.
Since 458 LV, most of this may be gone, as the surroundings of the Freemark city has been errupting a constant flow of lava. Lava has been found amid live forests elswehere on Coda, but the amount unleashed due to the Heart of Rage may be on a different level.
Due to its location, it is assumed that the Western Pass mountains border the region to its west, while Northern Bastion is to its east. It is also thought that the Sundric Sea is to the North of Freemark. But unlike the heliost Region, the Northern Continent and consequently, Stralheim aren't truly visible from this side.
Freemark has Shaper ruins, Human ruins, Anzu ruins, and Urgoth ruins. The Legion of Dawn has left several monuments across this region.

Trivia
- This region or its surroundings will look different during various seasonal times, which includes the presence or absence of various cataclysmic storms.
- The city of Freemark was the northernmost city of Bastion until its destruction.
- The only way to enter the Freemark Region from the Northern Bastion side is through the Shadow Lock. Shadow Lock is usually kept closed because elemental terrors from the Heart of Rage would enter Northern Bastion to wreak havoc. The monsters breach the strider lock and enter the region anyway!
