Originally a military outpost, this halfway point between Antium and Freemark serves as a place for striders to stop and rest. This is the second incarnation of Fort Tarsis. While the agricultural experiment around Honor Valley caused a population surge, it has dwindled due to the ongoing issues with Scars.

"Standing on the launch deck with your javelin all primed and ready to go, looking out over that endless jungle is the best feeling in the world. Wait, second-best: The best is seeing the towers of Fort Tarsis in the distance when you need to get home. Well, that and pie."

Fort Tarsis' walls are thick, its lancers are loyal, and the people are strong. But we're far from invulnerable. Danger comes in stranger forms every year… Like that Cataclysm that brought lavender snow. Lavender snow! Everyone thought it was beautiful until it started to burn. So we set up fire watches and doubled patrols to stop the damage. And I thought I'd seen everything.

"The monstrous Scar war machines smashed the white walls of Fort Tarsis for ten days and ten nights. With every attack, the walls shook, but never fell. Atop those same walls, the Sentinels' deafening gunfire barrage never ceased. Beyond the wall, Freelancers harassed and diverted the vast swarm, often disappearing into their uncountable numbers like stones dropping into water, only to reemerge from the canopy battered—but victorious."
—From "Warhive: The Siege of Fort Tarsis" by Madam Chronicler

"Everyone felt it, even people down in the marketplace. The ground shook like a mountain was sliding along rough rock. It was getting closer. The Fort's walls are solid and strong, but I had my doubts that day. They say the monster came from the darkest pits of the open sea, with a choking cloud of salty brine and decay preceding its first appearance. We readied ourselves as much as we could. The bones of Fort Tarsis would be tested today."

"When the Scar Warhive attacked, the walls stood. When the Hesperian Serpent emerged from a Shaper storm, the walls stood. When the titans marched, the walls stood. Fort Tarsis stands eternal."

"We don't know what caused it. Seems things in this world just happen, y'know? But I was the one who spotted them first: Titans on the march and coming right for us. My heart nearly jumped out of my chest, I don't mind saying. Rang the alarm and got everybody going. Fort Tarsis was in for a fight."

"Hail! Ye from the fort named for the savior of mankind? It was foretold that a man from that edge of the civilized world would be mine end. Tell me stranger! Did you take the High Road whence you left your home's gates? Did you leave behind the towering white walls and the Sentinels' watchful gaze?"

On your way through to Freemark, you'll have to stop at Fort Tarsis, which is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some of Bastion's most enchanting vistas. The fort sits on top of the breathtaking Tarsis Falls, which flow into a series of smaller falls, attracting a large variety of fauna to the area, which you can safely observe from strong, elevated walls. If sticking around for a day trip, check out the underground passage beneath the fort, once said to be home to the famous Ezurite Anzu, and then jet off for visit to the Haven, Honor Valley Dam, or the awe inspiring Ring Gate. Finish off your day with a nightcap at the local bar "The Shifty Korox," which is under new management.

A wyvern attempt to nest atop the Fort Tarsis towers last week caused mass panic for residents. The wyvern in question landed in the central courtyard, causing citizens to flee indoors. Nearby Sentinels were quick to respond and managed to slay the beast. No one was killed, though Sentinel Garred Barr is recovering from minor injuries. Considerable damage was done to the courtyard.
