
First Refuge is a district of Academy Ruins Subregion found within the region of Northern Bastion, located in the nation of Bastion, on the planet Coda, as of the year 468 LV.
History
First Refuge, along with Tarsis Forest was going to become an expansion to Fort Tarsis after the Honor Valley Dam was constructed to embrace the growing population of the Fort. However, when the Scars invaded in 413 LV, all plans of expansion were halted.
There are several Sentinel Towers built in this location before the canceled expansion. Governor Teak was responsible for the construction of the Radio Tower here.
In 468 LV, when the Arcanist Matthias Sumner was conducting a Field Research on Shaper Artifacts, he was in charge of several teams around the area to escape being chased by Scars. One of these teams, led by Aima Damarcus was slaughtered by these insectoid creatures. The Freelancer, when tasked by Tassyn to locate Matthias, found a broken radio, along with several corpses of Arcanists in First Refuge.
The Freelancer also fought several Scar enemies when trying to locate missing Arcanist equipment for Brin. When Haluk goes missing in the Fortress of Dawn, Owen contacts the Freelancer and Faye around the First Refuge, accusing the lancer of replacing him very quickly. Owen also gives the Freelancer some hints to prepare them for the upcoming battle.
During the Icetide of 468 LV, a massive Shaper Ice Globe came out of the ground. Coolant Harvesting Events took place inside this globe.
Geography and Layout
Along with the Sentinel base, there is a massive canyon between the towers and Tarsis Forest. The First Refuge also has a small cenote in its center surrounded by these towers. Sentinels are seen patrolling here, and outlaws attempt to set up camps and bases in vain.
