Eddian Tree is a non-hostile type flora that grows on planet Coda. It is quite mesmerizing to watch these plant-life. Eddian Tree is used as an ornamental plant. Because of their appearance, they are valued for its beauty and used in decorations.

Etymology and Anatomy

Eddian Grove gets its name from a folklore of an Anzu called the Great Eddian. It is a grove of various monumental sized “trees.”

Eddian Trees

Eddian trees have rocks and stones for trunks. Although, they have root-like branches that that lead to island-shaped tree-tops. These tops are covered in lush grassy patches. Night Vines and ordinary vines hang from the branches of Eddian trees.

The Great Eddian

Folk tales tell of great anzu called the Eddians who were few in number, yet hunted down to extinction by another predatory anzu called the Ezurite. When the Ezurite anzu devoured the final Eddian beast, the Freelancers decided to help it by a watering hole. While Ezurite was driven off, the last Eddian was mortally wounded. At its end, plants welcomed this creature, on whose place the Great Eddian sprouted.

Narrative Involvement

A long time ago, during the Time of the Legion of Dawn, an Urgoth called the Prophet had built a stronghold around the grove. However, a Paladin called Aamir the Dauntless tricked the urgoth leader out of hiding and defeated him.

Some time in the Legion Victorious era, a Freelancer called Spears had to wait by the grove while picking up Shaper Energy. Tansy Hull, in her book The Joy of Botany, has mentioned that the Eddian grove may not truly be plant lifeforms.

Scars are constantly seen trying to establish camps to takeover the Eddian Grove like they encroached the adjacent Blackshore, but Freelancers always stop them. The Freelancer has thwarted several threats in the vicinity of the Eddian grove. In 468 LV, to help Sentinel Brin, the Freelancer located an abandoned sentinel camp which led to the destination of an Enemy Mine where Sentinel Barr was rescued.
