Eddian Grove is a district of Great Falls Canyon Subregion found within the region of Northern Bastion, located in the nation of Bastion, on the planet Coda, as of the year 468 LV.
History
The Eddian Grove has been known since old legends and myths had existed. It is said that an anzu called the Eddian was the favorite diet of another anzu called the Ezurite. Ezurite vunted all the Eddian until only one remained. One day, a group of Freelancers witnessed this and decided to help the Eddian. While they defeated the Ezurite, the Eddian was gravely injured. However, the Eddian used the last of its life force to create itself into beautiful tree-like structures in this grove.
A long time ago, during the Time of the Legion of Dawn, a mighty Paladin called Aamir the Dauntless defeated an Urgoth who simply went by the Prophet. The Prophet had built himself a stronghold somewhere here. But the Prophet was lured into the wilds and struck down by Amir.
In the year 468 LV, the Freelancer visited the Eddian Grove several times. During the Triple Threat incident, one of the Dominion signets required to open the inner chamber of the Well was located here. When trying to solve the Mystery of the Emerald Abyss, the Freelancer went to silence the two Shaper Relics through here to end the Vanishing Act.
The same year, when helping Brin locate her missing Sentinels, some of the clues leading to the Enemy Mine were found here. When trying to locate Diggs the Impostor, this location was chosen to be the point of ambush for the Freelancer and Rythe, by Yarrow.
Later, when Echoes of Reality started encroaching and Doctor Harken wanted to build a device, he had requested Bristleback quills. Not naturally found in Northern Bastion, a bristleback, which had likely escaped a conjunction was found here. Using this material, it was possible to build the right device and eventually silence the cataclysm. During the Season of Skulls Festival, the Freelancer was sked by those lost in darkness to light a shrine for Amir the Dauntless.
Geography and Layout
Eddian Grove has numerous tree-like structures throughout the forest. At the center is the largest of these trees and is called the Great Eddian. More than 20 minor Eddian trees can be found here. These trees are unique and are one of a kind; found only in this location.
Lush flora grows here, and there is quite a large variety of them! Due to the forest-like nature of the grove, many animals live here. There are numerous waterfalls that drain into this grove. Scars are also seen trying to establish camos to no avail. There are several streams that support plantlife. There is also a Shaper Tunnel at one end that leads into the Emerald Abyss.
