Dominion Storm Valkyries are valkyries that only have lightning based abilities.
Etymology and Anatomy
Storm Valkyrie gets the name from Storm (a weather phenomenon known to strike lightning and from the fact that they have lightning based abilities) and Valkyrie (the Valkyrie javelin developed by Dominion).
Storm Valkyrie looks like a standard Dominion Valkyrie: a javelin suit with seals on the right arm and a cape on its back. Storm Valkyrie also becomes engulfed in purple-colored kinetic shield when foes approach.
When not shielded, the javelin is colored black and blue with gold metallic plating on several of its parts.
Narrative Involvement
The Dominion Storm Valkyries are high-ranking foes that usually do not show up in the battlefield until several standard foes such as Dominion Shocktroopers, Dominion Frost Hounds, Thunder Fangs, Ice Stalkers, and even Dominion Frost Brutes or Dominion Storm Brutes are defeated.
Often the non-elite and non-legendary versions of Valkyries may show up in lower numbers (usually up to 3) before the stronger types gate in.

Behavior and Abilities
Dominion Storm Valkyries have the following abilities:
- Lightning Projectiles: The Storm Valkyrie shoots slow moving projectiles that do lightning damage. (This ability is defunct since update 1.3.0)
- Lightning Beam Projectiles: The Storm Valkyrie shoots rapid moving projectiles of lightning that nearly resemble a beam of lightning. (This ability has replaced Lightning Projectiles since update 1.3.0)
- Lightning Explosion: The Storm Valkyrie creates a field of lightning beneath an foe to create an explosion that does high lightning blast damage.
Hidden Attributes
Dominion Storm Valkyrie has two hidden attributes:
- Infinite Hovering: Dominion Storm Valkyries can hover indefinitely as long as they are shielded.
- Lightning Resistant Shields: Dominion Storm Valkyrie’s shields are lightning resistant.

Dominion Storm Valkyries are excellent at flushing javelins taking cover. But they cannot do damage unless they are hovering.
Overview
Since they can technically hover indefinitely, they have the height advantage to spot foes and start shooting projectiles at the nearest foe within their line of sight. Their kinetic shield is resistant to lightning, and sometimes even immune. Once unshielded, they become vulnerable to weak point damage when their head is targeted.
Only the kinetic shields are resistant to Armor Buster damage.
Doing damage to or defeating the Storm Valkyries can make them drop ammo and repair packs. If health or ammo is low, collect these resupplies.
Combat
When the Storm Valkyrie notices and foe, it starts shooting its Lightning Projectiles are at a javelin. If the javelin is weak, then it is a cue to take cover.
If hiding behind walls for cover, care must be to not let the Storm Valkyrie to use its Lightning Explosion. There is a short duration between the creation of the lightning field on the surface beneath the javelin (where no damage will be done) and the actual explosion itself. If the field is seen, it is a cue to go to a different place. Since Storm Valkyries cannot continuously use Lightning Explosion, they will follow up with Lightning Beam Projectiles.
To tackle the flushing abilities of Storm Valkyries, it is best to focus on stripping the kinetic shields first—in this case, shield breaker attacks work very well, but impact damage also helps.
When the shields are stripped away, the Valkyrie’s suit is exposed. The Storm Valkyrie may still attack, and it will take a few seconds before the shield regenerates, but this is the best time to take it down.
Note: Burning, freezing, or using force-based abilities will knock the unshielded Valkyries down to the ground, making them unable to attack.

Trivia (May Contain Spoilers)
- At launch, the Valkyrie’s kinetic shields did not have any typing.
- The number of pips in the health/armor bar do not represent the total value. This means, two types can have same number of pips, but the stronger type (legendary or elite) will have a significantly higher health than their weaker counterparts.
- The ability names are taken from the Anthem Prima Guide and datamined files. They may have been slightly modified to avoid confusion with other in-game names.
