So we have crafted an answer to the Dominion's Shocktroopers and Frost hounds. |
Dominion Shocktroopers are the lowest level humanoid infantry among the Dominion Troops. They are found during every Dominion battle, and are among the first to show up or gate-in.
Etymology and Anatomy
Shocktroopers gain their names from shock (an electrical shock) and trooper (a cavalry soldier). Dominion Shocktroopers are the foot soldiers among Dominion Troops. They are the first cavalry to join a battle.
The Dominion Shocktrooper are bipedal humans in black, gray, and bright yellow uniforms. Their visors are colored in a blue light. They carry an assault rifle.
Narrative Involvement
Dominion Shocktroopers are always found in battlefields during skirmishes with the Dominion. They are the primary infantry in the Dominion forces. No Dominion related skirmish is complete without at least a handful of Shocktroopers.

Behavior and Abilities
Dominion Shocktroopers have the following abilities:
- Ranged Assault Rifle: Dominion Shocktroopers can shoot at enemies from quite a distance with significant accuracy.
- Deathrattle Grenade: Dominion Shocktroopers can throw a grenade that explodes immediately on contact doing lightning blast damage.
Hidden Attributes
Dominion Shocktrooper has one hidden attribute:
- Loose Deathratte Grenade: When Elite or Legendary Dominion Shocktroopers are defeated, they drop their unpinned deathrattle grenades on the location where they fall. Any javelin standing around this location will receive a significant lightning blast damage.
The gallery below shows the progress of Loose Deathrattle Grenade:
Strategy
Dominion Shocktrooper Throws a Deathrattle Grenade
Dominion Shocktroopers have regular health.
There is nothing special about them, except that they can move around the battle field and do long range low damage. Quick melee or a few non-weakpoint shots will quickly defeat them.
Be wary of the Loose Deathrattle Grenade once an elite or legendary Shocktrooper is defeated. When thrown by a Shocktrooper, it doesn't do much damage, but at defeat, the loose grenades pack quite the punch. This ability makes for an interesting gameplay mechanism as it is not found on any other enemy type. And Dominion Shocktroopers are among the lowest of foot soldeiers.
Every Named Dominion Shocktrooper
There are a few known prominent Dominion Shocktroopers, only a handful of them are named. However, since it is very rare to encounter these known and named troopers, they are all mentioned:
- 2 Dominion Soldiers during the mission Incursion
- Trooper Remnants during the missions Tip of the Spear and The Hunt
- Captured Dominion Officer during the mission Tip of the Spear.
Trivia (May Contain Spoilers)
- If Dominion Shocktroopers are defeated through a head-shot (weak point), then their heads explode with a blue colored burst.
- Dominion Shocktroopers have rotating dialogue lines during combat.
- Legendary Dominion ShockTroopers have only been found during Echoes of Reality.
- The number of pips in the health/armor bar do not represent the total value. This means, if two types of enemies can have same number of pips, but the stronger type (legendary or elite) will have a significantly higher health than their lower counterparts.
- The ability names are taken from the Anthem Prima Guide or datamined files. They may have been slightly modified to avoid confusion with other in-game names.
