So we have crafted an answer to the Dominion's Shocktroopers and Frost hounds. |
Dominion Frost Hounds are wolven trained by the Dominion and used in combat against their enemies.
Etymology and Anatomy
Frost Hounds gain their names from Frost (the deposition of ice) and Hound (another name for dog). Unlike other weaponized creatures such as Dominion Frost Brute, Dominion Storm Brute, and Ice Stalker , the Frost Hound is actually a trained Frost Wolven.
However, a helmet like collar is still equipped on the Frost Hounds to make them more aggressive towards foes.
The Frost Hound is a quadrupedal creature with blue body. It equips a silver helmet that has a blue glowing visor. It also has three silver spikes running from their its head to upper back. These spikes have blue glowing tips. There are several pale-blue patches and spots on a Frost Hound’s body.
If a Frost Hound is wounded, blood stains appear on its body.

Behavior and Abilities
Dominion Frost Hounds have the following abilities:
- Melee Bites: Dominion Frost Hounds run towards their foes and bite them.
- Ranged Ice Spit: Dominion Frost Hounds can spit out icicles at their foes to freeze them.
Hidden Attributes
Dominion Frost Hounds has one hidden attribute:
- Aggression: Frost Hounds are the first to sniff out their foes and attack them.
Strategy
Dominion Frost Hounds have regular health. They are weak to fire attacks (1.25 multiplier to fire damage). Because of their aggression, they are quite annoying in the battlefield.
When a Frost Hound approaches the javelin, it is preparing for its Melee Bite. The Melee Bite will stagger a javelin. When the javelin is at a distance, it will spit out icicles. This attack will do damage and freeze the javelin for a short amount of time. Both attacks do minimal damage, but they can become a nuisance as there is very little leeway between subsequent attacks. So, keep moving.
Targeting the head of the Frost Hound will do more damage to it, since that’s where the weak point is located.
Doing damage to or defeating the Frost Hounds can make them drop ammo and repair packs. If health or ammo is low, collect these resupplies.
Trivia (May Contain Spoilers)
- Frost Hounds sometimes run towards the edge of the battle fields. Unless they are found and defeated, they expedition won’t progress.
- When the Frost Hound takes more damage, its glowing back spikes begin to disappear.
- Frost Hounds have a distinct howl from regular wolven.
- The number of pips in the health/armor bar do not represent the total value. This means, if two types of foes can have same number of pips, but the stronger type (legendary or elite) will have a significantly higher health than their lower counterparts.
- The ability names are taken from the Anthem Prima Guide and datamined files. They may have been slightly modified to avoid confusion with other in-game names.
