Dominion Foothold is a subregion within the region of The Echo of Reality, located in the nation of Bastion, on the planet Coda, as of the year 468 LV.
History
Not much is known about Dominion Foothold Subregion, as it hasn’t been fully explored. The details of this location are hazy as of 468 LV. However, from the conversations that the Freelancer has with Faye Navine when braving the Echo of Reality Cataclysm, it seems that this area had been mostly wilderness with not a lot of structures. In 468 LV, when Vara Brom caused the Echoes of Reality, the Freelancer finds a new Shaper ruin here called the Ring of Magnus. The ruin never existed before and Vara created it to change the existing reality into her own. The Freelancer encountered a Valkyrie Officer called Valkyrie Magnus, fighting and defeating whom, caused the Echo of Reality to weaken.
Geography and Layout
What existed here before the cataclysm started taking over is unknown. It may never be possible ot determine the real truth behind this area. There is at least one rift, one Pocket of Stable Reality, and one Central Crystal apparatus here. A Dominion Base is seen built at the Dominion Foothold on a massive open beach area. There are a few Shaper spines found here. There are also some additional features like cargo holds of striders are also seen here, which is an odd item to find on a beach. There are a couple of deep water spots by the ocean here, however, there aren’t many other features except large rock formations amind minor flora and fauna. There is a special hidden location behind a Shaper Door here.
Flora, Creatures, and Enemy
Dominion Foothold Subregion is a vast Subregion with multiple locations and changing environment. The vegetation and animal life varies depending on these environments. Enemies encountered also have a preference of trying to occupying specific locations. As such, it is easier to visit their individual pages to check these three lists out.

Dominion Foothold Subregion may have been mentioned in certain situations such as, the Freelancer having conversations or overhearing when the people in Coda speak, or mentioned outside the game in legitimate sources like the official tie-in media.

Trivia
- This subregion or its surroundings will look different during various seasonal times, which includes the presence or absence of various cataclysmic storms.
- There are no World Encounters here since this location is available only for a maximum of 43 minutes. However, there are encounters in the form of Area Fill Encounters and Cataclysm Events.
- Dominion Foothold Subregion was the fourth one with a Cataclysm Event available during the original run of Echoes of Reality.
- The reason why this subregion is thought to be in Bastion is because of the familiar flora found here. This location is also located between Northern Bastion and The Sunken Cell, since certain plants and animals are seen living in both these locations.
- Dominion Foothold is one of the two times a full Dominion Base is seen. The other time is during the Tip of the Spear (Mission).
