Adaxia Dell (1)

See Cortex Entry: Adaxia Dell (1) for More Details

Born into the Antium royal line of succession, Dax is one of the most sought-after women in Bastion—much to her chagrin. Dax wishes she could simply be a cartographer like her Aunt Cardea, mapping the mysteries of uncharted lands. After embarrassing her stuffy family, Dax was banished to Fort Tarsis to learn discipline from the Sentinels.

Dear Diary...
Late for work again today. Vule was pretty huffy about it. But really, it's not like I was up all night dancing! I was guarding the wall. He should want well-rested lancers. Do I want to end up like Barr? Falling asleep in his javelin? No.
Barr is nice, though.

DEAR DIARY

See Cortex Entry: DEAR DIARY for More Details

After leading the Freelancer on a wild ursix chase, Dax admitted her aunt's journal—containing the key to solving the Emerald Abyss mystery—was stolen by the outlaws in the ursix den. Dax hoped they could piece together her aunt's research with the cypher link, but it was missing too much information. They would need to steal back the journal from the outlaw gang's ruthless leader, Talon
Together, Dax and the Freelancer tracked down Talon's location and ambushed the gang's hideout. The outlaws put up a valiant fight, but were no match for the seasoned Freelancer and exuberant Sentinel. Although Talon escaped, Aunt Cardea's journal was back in the right hands.

MYSTERIOUS BEGINNINGS

See Cortex Entry: MYSTERIOUS BEGINNINGS for More Details

Sometimes the best of friendships are formed in the most unlikely of ways. Such was the case with the Freelancer and Sentinel Dax. Years ago, Dax's Aunt Cardea, a royal cartographer, vanished alongside many others in the Emerald Abyss. Cardea discovered a link between the Emerald Abyss and the Heart of Rage, but disappeared before she could learn more. Dax hoped she and the Freelancer could pick up where her aunt left off.
The helpful Freelancer agreed, but things didn't go quite as planned. Instead of exploring the Emerald Abyss, Dax led the ever-patient Freelancer to an outlaw hideout under attack by ursix. After a fierce battle with an ancient ursix, the Freelancer recovered a cypher link from the beast's belly and delivered it to Dax.

The Commander's not quite the korox I thought he was. I mean, he's still not grabbit-level, but he's okay. Aunt Cardea's been doing much better since he started coming around. If the Commander's grumpy face continues get her out of bed in the morning, I can deal with his unsolicited life advice. Besides, I haven't had to cook in weeks!

Freelancer,

Dax asked me to invite you to her apartment for dinner. Even though, apparently, I'm not invited. I know you will say that Dax is a little rough around the edges, but I think the words you're looking for are "distracted" and "rude."

Enjoy your dinner.

Mail: Where is Lady Adaxia Miravala Dell?

See Cortex Entry: Mail: Where is Lady Adaxia Miravala Dell? for More Details

It has been confirmed by royal insiders that Lady Adaxia Miravala Dell, one of the most eligible members of the royal family, is no longer living at the palace. For a week, sources have claimed she was sent away for military deployment at an unknown location.

A palace statement now states that "Lady Adaxia is a wonderful woman and we wish her all the best in her new life as a Captain with the Sentinels. We are sure she'll do us proud." Considering the scandal Adaxia heaped upon the palace in recent months, she'll have her work cut out for her. Good luck, Adaxia. Wherever you are.

VANISHING ACT

See Cortex Entry: VANISHING ACT for More Details

If Dax and the Freelancer had one thing in common, it was their stubborn aversion to giving up. They studied Aunt Cardea's journal and discovered the Heart of Rage's appearance created a ripple effect of volatile Shaper energy that caused relics far and wide to react in strange ways. Cardea believed this ripple effect was behind the disappearances in the Emerald Abyss.
After defeating Talon once and for all, the Freelancer and Dax found a beam of Shaper energy at the heart of the Emerald Abyss. As they approached, people stumbled out of the light. Merchants, Arcanists, caravan drivers—people from all walks of life emerged, including one royal cartographer: Dax's long-lost Aunt Cardea Dell.
Back at Fort Tarsis, Cardea and Dax thanked the Freelancer for reuniting their family and looked to the future and new adventures together.
