In this exchange, Curate Trall from Antium speaks with Madame Chronicler about a very important matter which concerns security.[1]

Note: There are several fanmade twitter accounts that seem like residents of Coda who may have replied to the conversations. But they aren’t official. Most notorious among these are accounts of Sentinels, Traders, Custodians, Freelancers, etc. Only the Accounts of Curate Trall, Cypher Ruc Bayen, Cypher Saul Metren, Cypher Ty Garron, and Madame Chronicler Zahra Tol are officially associated with the network.

Day 21, Month 6, 468 LV

Curate Trall
Madame Chronicler, I have an important security matter to discuss with you.

Madame Chronicler Zahra Tol
Of course, Curate. How may I assist you?

Curate Trall
The encryption for library archives for Fort Tarsis have not been updated since... skies above, well over 3 years? Unacceptable.

Curate Trall
Recent Dominion activity in the region calls for a refactoring of all access procedures to avoid enemy tampering.

Madame Chronicler Zahra Tol
My dear Curate, with great respect, it takes longer than three years just to teach all the cyphers a new encryption technique.

Madame Chronicler Zahra Tol
If we change encryption again, half of our cyphers will not be able to read the archives. Although I doubt some of them can read at all, really.

Curate Trall
Esteemed Chronicler, if we don’t change the Fort Tarsis encryption and protect those archives, we will have larger problems than a few static-fogged young cyphers unfamiliar with discipline.

Madame Chronicler Zahra Tol
Oh, this should be good. Do tell. What looming threat urges us on this time?

Curate Trall
What are we always on-guard against, my sister-cypher? The very real and very unknown plans of our Northern aggressors. They scheme to infiltrate Antium—and where better to start than Fort Tarsis?

Madame Chronicler Zahra Tol
Through the library, you think?

Curate Trall
Ever with the sharp tongue, I see.

Madame Chronicler Zahra Tol
This is very like you: Always in search of infiltrators and spies. I haven't forgotten when you turned every single article of clothing in both our closets inside-out to search for "listening devices." Took ages to re-sort.

Curate Trall
That was necessary.

Madame Chronicler Zahra Tol
Why would the Dominion be spying on you through your underclothes, is what I want to know? And how is making it harder to look up facts about the anrisaur going to stop their nefarious plans?

Curate Trall
We cannot be too careful about who may be watching and for what reason. But... the choice to use all tools available to safeguard Fort Tarsis is yours, not mine.

Curate Trall
I would never wish to see the day I send a message and get none in return.

Madame Chronicler Zahra Tol
Fine! Fine, I'll change the encryption on some of the archives. Sensitive information only—I'm not dealing with a host of cyphers bothering me when they can't open the index of radio shows.

Curate Trall
An agreeable start. Until next time, Madame Chronicler.
