Cymatic Notes Types

There are five types of Cymatic Notes. In form and size, they appear similar, but depending on their colors, they have values and strengths.

Green Note

Cymatic Note Green
  • In the cataclysm, these can only be obtained by defeating enemies. They are random in occurrence. They partially fill the stability meter. These notes must be collected by going through or very close to them.
  • In the strongholds, these are either found along Cymatic Note Trails or by defeating the Golden Grabbit. These notes must be collected by going through or very close to them.

Blue Note

Cymatic Note Blue
  • In the cataclysm, these can be found scattered around the map and under water. They can also be found when the Vault Puzzles are completed. They also partially fill the stability meter, but they fill more than green notes. These notes must be collected by going through or very close to them.
  • In the strongholds, these are either found at the starting of Cymatic Note Trails and their continuation as long as they are collected. They are also found by breaking Destructible Boxes or by defeating the Golden Grabbit. These notes must be collected by going through or very close to them.

Purple Note

Cymatic Note Purple
  • In the cataclysm, these can be found scattered around the map and under water in extremely hidden locations. They can also be found when the Vault Puzzles are completed. They fill the stability meter almost completely, but never fully. These notes must be collected by going through or very close to them.
  • In the strongholds, these are either found at the end of a successfully completed Cymatic Note Trails. They are also found by defeating the Golden Grabbit. These notes must be collected by going through or very close to them.

Orange Note

Cymatic Note Orange
  • In the cataclysm, these are the most valuable cymatic notes and cannot be found lying around in the map. They can be obtained only by completing various puzzles like the Shaper Sphere, Arcane Vault Relic, Exploding Rock Crystals and Pressure Plate Statues. They completely fill the stability meter. These notes must be collected by going through or very close to them.
  • In the strongholds, these are either found hidden in seven randomized locations only. Collecting them will also increase the score multiplier by one. Exactly four are also found by completing the Shaper Sphere Puzzle, but these four do not add to the multiplier, instead they give a set scoring points per note. These notes must be collected by going through or very close to them.

Red Note

Cymatic Note Red
  • These are unique to the strongholds and are usually associated with a Secret Boss Summoning Puzzle.
  • They can only be collected by interacting with them. Going through them does nothing.
  • There will always be exactly five red notes in each stronghold.
  • It is unknown if they have any stability related purpose as they aren't found inside any cataclysm.

Cymatic Notes Value

Cymatic Notes of different rarity have different base points in different game modes for each one collected. If the score multiplier is considered, then the value will change. Unless explicitly mentioned, the multiplier will be applied to each collected note.

Trivia

  • Cymatics is the study of sound and vibration made visible. The notes flitter and swirl around like sound vibrations in a radial direction.
  • Each cymatic note is associated with a type of ember. Even the red note can be associated with the unknown type of ember from Anthem: Conviction.
  • It is impossible to get exactly 500 points for orange notes in Echoes of Reality because all puzzles associated with it are outside the safety zones, so they will always be impacted by the doubling multiplier.
  • All cymatic notes except one type cast the same-colored light as they are. Only red cymatic notes cast a dark green light.
