
While Brin has to figure out a way to deal with the plans of Damaris the Escari with the Shaper Relic, she has some contracts for the Freelancer.
Hints and Suggestions
- The dialog exchange between the characters will change depending on whether single player or multiplayer mode is played.
- Remember to perform Feats to obtain XP for increasing Pilot Level and receiving Alliance bonus.
- Scar, Outlaw, and Dominion infantry can be easily tackled with any combat equipment. Items that do Blast Damage are more useful when they are in hordes. The same idea holds for fauna with red health.
- For Dominion Ash Valkyrie, Outlaw Lancer, and Scar Scouts and hunters, it is best to focus on stripping their shields with lightning or Shield Breaker damage.
- Scar Destroyers' seeker mines are filled with acid which can reduce resistance of the javelin. They can deploy them infinite times. One mine may be tolerable, but several mines can automatically target a javelin and bring it down. Whenever a Destroyer is seen, defeat it quickly with any equipment.
- Scar Hunters can do a lot of damage They must be a priority when tackling enemies. Once their shields are stripped, freeze them using ice or render them flightless with fire.
- Brutes, Scar Enforcers, Dominion Storm Brutes and Outlaw Lancers have armored health. Using armor buster, acid or fire type damage is the best way to deal with them. Same goes for turrets.

Quest Chain
This expedition is a part of the Need to Know II Storyline. When the storyline is completed, an appropriate challenge is also completed, which will reward the Freelancer. The following are the related quests in order for this storyline:

- These contracts can have varying list of objectives.
- The expedition objective of dealing with threats that Sentinels don’t have expertise in, is a reference to the fact that Sentinels aren’t trained to silence Shaper relics. If they ever have silenced, it is because of sheer luck or out of desperation.

Briefing
The Freelancer goes to collect the contract from the Contract Board beside Brin.
- Sentinel Brin: "Oh! Freelancer. Great timings. I was thinking about Shaper relics."
- The Freelancer: "Where is this heading?"
- Sentinel Brin: "All that Shaper energy sloshing around keeps activating relics. Or reactivating them. It never ends. We really need more experienced lancers keeping them in check."
- The Freelancer: "Should I just warm up my javelin now?"
- Sentinel Brin: "Well, if you have time to stop the Shaper menace…"
Start Brin's Contract
The Freelancer warms up their javelin.
Launch Expedition
The Freelancer goes outside Fort Tarsis.

Recover Shaper Fragments
- The Freelancer: "My javelin’s ready, Brin. Where do we start?"
Find Fragments
- Sentinel Brin: "So, um. I need you to recover Shaper fragments. But be careful: They’re in Scar territory."
- The Freelancer: "Got it. On my way."
The Freelancer reaches the location provided by Brin.
- Sentinel Brin: "There’s the Scars. They’ve got the missing fragments. And a bunch of turrets."
Turrets Destroyed
The Freelancer needs to destroy 2 turrets. When both the turrets are destroyed,
- Sentinel Brin: "Good, that’s done with."
Fragments Recovered
The Freelancer must recover 6 Shaper fragments with the help of the radar. When a few fragments are collected, a Scar leader shows up.
- Sentinel Brin: "Big Scar! Try not to die."
Kill Targeted Scar
While the Freelancer is collecting fragments, dealing with the Scar nuisance, they must also defeat the Scar leader. When the target Scar is defeated,
- Sentinel Brin: "Well, that wraps that up."
Fragments Recovered
When all the Fragments are recovered,
- The Freelancer: "That’s all the fragments."
- Sentinel Brin: "We’re not done yet."
Gather Shaper Data from Arcanist Beacons
- Sentinel Brin: "I need you to go and collect some data on Shaper relics from some Arcanist Beacons."
- The Freelancer: "On it."
Travel to First Beacon
The Freelancer reaches the first beacon.
- Sentinel Brin: "Outlaws]], here to scrap and steal the beacons. Clear them out, then activate it."
Defeat Outlaws
The Freelancer clears the outlaw enemies along with the aid from two Sentinels.
Activate Beacon
The Freelancer interacts with the beacon to activate it.
- Sentinel Brin: "We’ve got hostiles."
The Freelancer must also deal with more outlaws who have now gated in.
Work in Progress
The Cypher working with Brin creates a cypher projected circle. Several Outlaws begin to gate in. The Freelancer must remain inside the circle to make progress. If they step out, the circle changes to an orange color and the progress made dwindles. If any enemy is inside the circle, the color becomes pale and the progress slows down, but doesn’t stop. When the progress is completed,
- Sentinel Brin: "Right. Now take out those active hostiles."
Defeat Outlaws
The Freelancer fights and defeats all the outlaws.
- Sentinel Brin: "Great! Go to the next beacon—it’s not far."
- The Freelancer: "Okay."
Travel to Second Beacon
The Freelancer flies to the next beacon.
- Sentinel Brin: "I see that second beacon. Activate it."
- The Freelancer: "Can do."
Activate Beacon
The Freelancer interacts with the beacon to activate it.
- Sentinel Brin: "We’ve got hostiles."
The Freelancer must also deal with more outlaws who have now gated in.
Work in Progress
The Cypher working with Brin creates a cypher projected circle. Several Outlaws begin to gate in. The Freelancer must remain inside the circle to make progress. If they step out, the circle changes to an orange color and the progress made dwindles. If any enemy is inside the circle, the color becomes pale and the progress slows down, but doesn’t stop. When the progress is completed,
- Sentinel Brin: "Right. Now take out those active hostiles."
Defeat Remaining Outlaws
The Freelancer fights and defeats all the outlaws along with some angry Anrisaurs that are attracted to the beacon.
- Sentinel Brin: "And that’s done. Good going."
If any ally Sentinels are downed, this is a good opportunity to repair their javelins and obtain the Ally Javelins repaired Feat.
- Sentinel Brin: "There’s one more thing."
Silence Volatile Shaper Relic
- Sentinel Brin: "We just got a really big energy spike off a powerful Shaper relic. Go and silence it."
- The Freelancer: "Understood."
Travel to Relic
The Freelancer flies to the location given by Brin.
- Sentinel Brin: "It’s the Dominion! That relic must be too powerful to resist. Don’t let them take it."
Defeat Enemies Near Relic
The Freelancer fights and defeats the Dominion enemies.
- Sentinel Brin: "What’s the relic doing? Oh. Making a bunch of creatures. Careful silencing this one."
Fragments Recovered
The freelancer must insert 6 relic fragments into the volatile relic to silence it, while dealing with the Dominion and the fauna created by the Shaper relic! While the relic is being silenced, it creates a variety of creatures and the Dominion keep gating in. When the relic is silenced, all the creatures it had created die off.
- Sentinel Brin: "There. Now you can get rid of the hostiles."
Defeat Remaining Enemies
The Freelancer defeats all remaining enemies.
- Sentinel Brin: "It’s over. Great work. That’s everything. Nice work out there today. You’ve got the Sentinels’ gratitude."
The Freelancer can collect any remaining rewards before the expedition ends.
Post Expedition
The freelancer returns to the fort.

- This expedition has no conversational cut scene during briefing.
- This expedition has no conversational de-briefing post mission.
- The dialogs may change or differ from the ones transcribed here.
- As a matter of fact, the 3 main objectives can be different.
- The dialogs mentioned in the script can vary across different play-throughs and different repetition of the game modes. The dialog will be taken from a pool that get rotated in-game. The script mentioned here is from one such instance only.
