Chimeric Plant is a non-hostile type flora that grows on planet Coda. It is quite mesmerizing to watch these plant-life. Chimeric Plant is a valuable resource. These plants or products derived from them are used throughout the world in several ways.
Etymology and Anatomy
Chimeric Compound gets its name from it being an organic compound and the fact that it has undergone chimerification. These compounds glow a bright silvery shine. They also seem to have some kind of organic tendrils that can wiggle around.
There are three known plants that can undergo chimerification to become chimeric plants.
Cup Plant
Cup plants, as the name suggests, are cup shaped. They have a beige cup-like body with a bright blue rim. The center of the cup is yellow. When these plants are young, they look like blue rock formations.
Cup plants can be found individually or in large clusters. Cup plants grow best under shady regions and in caves.
Fully grown cup plants can be harvested by simply doing a small amount of damage to them. They will always give chimeric compound when harvested. Occasionally, due to the interaction with the Anthem of Creation, they can also give embers of various rarities as a by-product. If cup plants are young, they do cannot be harvested.
Disk Plant
Disk plants, as the name suggests, are Disk shaped. They have a floral disk-like appearance with a green body. Each disk plant has several slots inside it which contains pale-blue circular seeds. Young disk plants look like smaller version of adult plants.
Disk plants can only be found individually. Disk plants grow best under places with open sunshine. They are found in open grassy patches.
Fully grown Disk plants can be harvested by simply doing a small amount of damage to them. They will always give chimeric compound when harvested. Occasionally, due to the interaction with the Anthem of Creation, they can also give embers of various rarities as a by-product. If Disk plants are young, they do cannot be harvested.
Tube Plant
Tube plants, as the name suggests, are Tube shaped. They have elongated tube-like body that could be as tall as an interceptor javelin. Their bodies are brown-red and tan in color. They always have a jade-green bead atop their tubes. Young tube plants have an appearance of reddish flower buds of various sizes.
Tube plants can be found individually or in large clusters. Tube plants grow best near water bodies. They can also be found inside caves that have sunlight and water.
Fully grown Tube plants can be harvested by simply doing a small amount of damage to them. They will always give chimeric compound when harvested. Occasionally, due to the interaction with the Anthem of Creation, they can also give embers of various rarities as a by-product. If Tube plants are young, they do cannot be harvested.
Narrative Involvement
The Freelancer will find several opportunities to harvest chimeric compounds throughout Northern Bastion. In 468 LV, when Prospero wanted to re-start the Fort Tarsis Forge, he asked the Freelancer to find embers. Embers could be found by harvesting either chimeric plants or chimeric minerals, as a by-product.
Later, when Haluk started to craft the “seals” of the Dawn Shield, the Freelancer was tasked to find embers, chimeric compounds and chimeric alloys. Harvesting any of the adult plants would give the chimeric compounds.
Apart from this, anytime the Freelancer wanted to craft any combat equipment, or even offer it in the tombs of the Guardians of Dawn to obtain Guardians' Gifts, various amounts of chimeric compounds would be used.
