Butterflies are small harmless insects that can be found in lush areas of Coda.

Etymology and Anatomy

Butterflies are brightly colored insects found in grassy areas. They are winged and flutter around harmlessly.

Narrative Involvement

Butterflies are found everywhere.

Before 458 LV, the then Sentinel Jani, ran out of the Fort Tarsis walls with a stolen Javelin because of a disagreement with her superior. During this time, she explored the wilderness and discovered a new species of Butterflies. Unfortunately, she was the only one to witness their beauty because the species became extinct after one generation.

More recently, all the contact from the remote settlement of Primoris was lost. The last person to have contacted the local Cypher from Primoris was a trader called Gallen Dal, who said that the Cypher made an uncharacteristic comment of butterfly flock before signing off.

There are Arcanists who have seen giant butterflies flying above them because of the influence of a Shaper Relic. Fortunately, there was a lancer who captured the event with their link.

Butterflies cannot be interacted with or damaged in-game. They cannot do any damage either.

Encounter Locations

Butterflies are found everywhere on Coda. They are also found in almost all the sub-regions of Northern Bastion. They aren’t found in areas where Vesnids have nested.

Butterflies are also found in the gardens of Fort Tarsis.

Trivia (May Contain Spoilers)

  • The most commonly colored butterflies in Northern Bastion are blue, orange, and white in-game.
  • The Most common butterflies found in Fort Tarsis are orange colored.
